As a mum who’s 16 year old daughter tragically took her own life I can 100% relate to this. Every time someone refers to Brodie as ‘committing suicide’ it feels like a stab in the heart. I’m sure people don’t mean to offend and it’s just a lack of understanding #doitforbrodie

TW - suicide. Please say ‘died by suicide’ instead of ‘committed suicide’. The latter has connotations of suicide being a crime, which it hasn’t been since 1961. The former is non-stigmatising and helps us have more respectful conversations about suicide. Our words matter.

Todays struggle is real...my heart is aching for my beautiful girl but I managed to get up, into gear and out for a walk with the dog and lovely friend. It feels like a massive effort to get dressed but really nice to get out and into the fresh air. Friends are the best therapy♥️
