I wasn’t a girl trapped in a boy’s body. I was a boy who was sensitive, empathic, nurturing and delicate and a society sick with oppressive gender roles said “sounds girly to me.” The answer isn’t to trans us. It’s to say boys can be those things, and girls don’t have to be.

Transwomen are a subset of men. It’s okay to call us transwomen out of respect for our unique social experiences. It’s not okay to censor someone for calling us men when that is ultimately what we are. There’s room for nuance sociologically, but biology is simple.

Watching the TERFs topic on Twitter and seeing a lot of men jump in to defend “cis women” and it seems a good time to remind that using the word cis to make women a subcategory of their own sex further cements gender ideology as legitimate in the public consciousness. Let’s not.

Last night my boyfriend and I got into a physical fight. He hurt me badly and I told him we were over. This morning I found he had made a TikTok months ago asking women (specifically black women, who he fetishizes) to add him on Snapchat. I made him take his shit and get out.
