A huge voting rights rollback just took place in Virginia. Governor Glenn Youngkin announced he was no longer automatically restoring people's voting rights. What this means is quite exceptionally harsh: lifetime disenfranchisement is back in Virginia.

Same day voter registration was passed in 1973 in Maine by a Republican-controlled legislature. It’s a wonderful safeguard against accidental or illegal voter purges. It should be national policy.

Just called my primary care provider so I can get my asthma prescriptions switched away from my local @Walgreens pharmacy. That politics should determine the availability of legal prescriptions at a pharmacy is horrifying.

In Maine we have no-excuse absentee voting. Over 62% of voters chose to vote absentee in 2020. That’s one way we expanded voter turnout in a pandemic.
