It is with great sadness that today Coach Ambrosio, a cornerstone of Colonie athletics for decades has passed away. He dedicated his life to the Colonie community and has touched the lives of countless Colonie student-athletes. He will be greatly missed.
Late Coach Ambrosio Named Kind Human of the Year
Gone but never forgotten Colonie Central High School on Saturday named the late Coach Michael Ambrosio as its first Kind Human of the Year kicking off Raiderfest 2019 at its annual Hill of Heroes ceremony
Big congrats to Ahnalese Pearson for receiving tournament MVP and Sareena DiCerbo for receiving tournament team All Star!! Both girls played a huge role in leading the team to victory both nights!
Last year, the South Colonie Board of Education approved the Colonie HS football field to be named after longtime Colonie teacher and coach, Mike Ambrosio. Tomorrow will be the naming ceremony and the first game played on the newly named field.
Let's not take for granted what is going to happen in the next 10 minutes......

Will Hotaling finished 4th in NYS!! It’s been 10 years since Colonie had a state place finisher!! Will ends his senior year with 39 wins! He is a two time sectional champion! Making him the 7th multiple sectional champ In Colonie wrestling program history!! Congratulations Will!

Andrew Shaw was awarded track athlete of the meet at Niskayuna Warrior Classic today. He won the 400m dash with the current section 2 best time of 51.84 and anchored the winning 4 x 400 relay team.
Congrats to the Girls Basketball team for a great comeback win against Liverpool! The girls won 57-52. Ahnalese Pearson lead with 18 and was 10/11 at the line. Sareena DiCerbo had 11 and Macie Tramarchi had 10. Come root for the streak to continue tomorrow at 6 in the MUG.

Colonie Girls Varsity Basketball wins against Shaker for their 7th straight win, 60-47. Ahnalese Pearson had 15, Makayla Blake and Macie Tramarchi both pitched in for 13. Another great team effort from all!

An Athletic Scholarship Fund has been created in Coach Ambrosio's honor. This will be used to continue supporting our athletes in the way he did for over 30 years.

Colonie Baseball coach Kevin Halburian (left)was recognized tonight before his final home game as he is retiring at the end of the season. Former players were in attendance to recognize coach Halburian’s outstanding career.
Yesterday the 2019 Section 2 Champion Colonie Varsity Softball team and the 2019 NYS & Federation Champis 4 x 100-meter relay team were recognized at the Town of Colonie Board meeting. Where Town Supervisor Paula Mahan will present proclamations to both teams. Congratulations!
Congratulations to two Colonie High School graduates, Bella Franchi and Amanda Chambers (University at Albany) for being named Capital District Sports Women of the Year for 2023. They were both recognized at the ceremony last night at Proctors Theatre.

Colonie Girls Varsity Basketball won 68-46 tonight against Albany. Captains lead the team tonight- Sareena DiCerbo with 17, Makayla Blake with 16 and Ahnalese Pearson with 14. Great game girls!
Softball semi-finals against Shen Chloe Vanburen 1 for 2 W/ HR and 2 RBI & Myaisha Kelly 2 for 3 W/ HR and 2 RBI. We play in the finals on Tuesday June 4th against Bethlehem at Luther Forest in Malta. The game starts at 5 with opening Ceremonies at 4. Go Raiders!!!
Tomorrow our lady raiders play their FIRST home game this season!! The girls host a holiday tournament the 26th and 27th. They play the 26th at 6:00, come support and cheer as they fight to defend their undefeated streak the past 4 games!
Another huge congrats to the Girls Varsity team for winning their Championship game tonight against Averill Park. Makayla Blake and Ahnalese Pearson lead the team in points, both having 12. The girl continued their 6th straight win this season!!
Colonie Girls varsity lacrosse defeated Guilderland 21-10. Defense was huge in the teams success with Dence and Atkins leading the way! Offense was hitting on every cylinder. Connolly, Coyle, K. Boardman, I. Boardman A. Mesick and Irons all scored 1 or more goals.
Bella Boardman is a USA Lacrosse Academic All-American honoree. These are players who exhibit exemplary lacrosse skills, good sportsmanship on the field, and represents high standards of academic achievement in the classroom. Congrats Bella!!!

Colonie Girls Basketball won 60-53 against Bethlehem on Senior Night! All seniors played great! Senior captains led the team, Makayla Blake had 16 points, Sareena DiCerbo had 14, and Ahnalese Pearson had 7. Thank you to all friends and family that came to support the girls.
