My daughter 💗💗💗 Beatrix Jane Wilson. 8lbs7oz of pure love arrives Wednesday 26th January at 9:15am Unfortunately after a 4.5litre haemorrhage after a natural Labour I needed life saving surgery and 4 transfusions. All ok now. So thankful to still be here to be your mummy 💗💗

Awful reporting from @BBCR1 this morning… saying we need to reduce our meat consumption in the UK to reduce environmental damage is WRONG on so many levels!! Emissions from UK beef is half that of the global average! And only 10% of all emissions in the UK comes from agriculture

As someone who supports and works in the dairy industry, a baby with a cows milk protein allergy wasn’t ideal! However this is the first week since she was 3 weeks old I’ve not had to buy any oat ‘milk’/juice as she’s fully passed the milk ladder!! 👏🏽💃🏼! #teamdairy #drinkmilk 🐄

It was one of my goals to compete again at a @CrossFit comp but this time as a mummy! Managed to come 20th out of 240 girls! Still a long way to go but not too bad for a mid 30s woman who had a baby last year! Those 4:30am alarms for the gym are paying off 🏋🏼‍♀️💁🏼‍♀️

Are you #rumenfill scoring your dry cows? Rumen fill is the result of dry matter intake, ration composition and digestion. It’s really useful for identifying DMI problems. Close up dry cows should be scored daily! A minimum of a score 4 should be seen! @ElancoLivestock 🐄🐄

One of the biggest driving factors of transition success is Dry Matter Intake. Dry cows need about 0.8m of feed space to maximise their intakes. Less than this can result in more aggressive displacements and increase stress. Subordinate cows and heifers are more at risk #drycows

Mum guilt is one of the worst things I’ve ever experienced 😭😭😭! With having to drop her off at 7:30am and not getting home from Penrith till 6:30pm…. I’ve seen her for an hour today before she fell asleep on me! 💔! No one warned me about this part!

Water access is one of the top limiting factors in transition cow sheds. The first rule of thumb is that there should be at least two locations per shed to decrease the ability of a dominant cow to block water access. 10cm/cow of clean water should be provided #drycows 🐄

How close to calving are you moving your dry cows? If cows are isolated in a calving pen too close to calving, the stress of isolation may result in further reduction of DMI and an increase in the risk of ketosis and immunocompromise. #drycows #teamdairy
