When he died in 2019 he left me all of his music, his recordings and some of his original artwork. Everything was meticulously cataloged, edited, and all very polished. This recorder hiding in a box of adapters and old keyboard manuals was raw. Very uncharacteristic for him.

This piano is the first one I learned to play on. My grandfather later would buy me my own piano and supported my piano and organ studies through college. In the bench of his piano was a folder with every program for recitals I’d given, even the ones he couldn’t make it to.
