Much enjoyed my brother
@BorisJohnson
's speech to conference especially the tribute to our mother and yes I can confirm, for those who are asking yes she did Vote Leave and wants to Get Brexit Done
Thanks for this sane tweet
@sajidjavid
Can you reflect on why this Government (you were not of course Health Sec and part of the Quad then) padlocked tennis courts and playgrounds, closed gyms, and banned all outdoor exercise apart from walking and running in England in 2020?
Parkrun has helped so many people improve their health across the UK. I can’t see how restricting outdoor exercise in this way is justified or proportionate.
There is more pathos and drama and romance in one frame of Clarkson’s Farm on

Am not sure whether my ilk shouldn’t sit this one out but as everyone has suddenly shifted after three Brits have been killed by the IDF - as opposed to the 14 Brits killed and three taken hostage by Hamas on 7/10 - here goes.
The arms business is a dreadful trade and war is not…
Well said Janice
Willoughby has singlehandedly done more to damage the trans cause than all terfs combined
Full disclosure: Willoughby has libelled me repeatedly and accused me of misgendering her “hundreds of times” when we were in the Big Brother house. Channel Five confirmed…
Deborah Orr, the warrior queen of journalism, has died too young from cancer at 57. Her memoir, which has already been hailed as a masterpiece, will be published posthumously. Let’s make it a massive and deserved hit
Dear Piers, please don’t tell people they’re “angry” and I’m “defying” the result of the referendum - three years after the result I’m standing for the right of the people to have a say if - as things stand - there is no parliamentary majority for anything. Rachel 😘
Dear
@Ofcom
, I plead guilty to explaining - as a publicly declared Remain voter - why Farage is currently leading the polls, and why Brexit voters are angry people like Rachel are trying to defy the result of the Referendum.
Que? Up till now my EP opponent in the South West,
@Andrew_Adonis
has been the brains and face of the Labour Party’s axis of reasonableness - and therefore a massive Remainer. He is too clever to have written a word of this unicorns-first-Brexit apologia!
Why do Cummings/Hancock wear show-masks outside where there is low risk of aerosol transmission but as soon as they penetrate enclosed space of Portcullis House/Downing St they tear them off faster than a suit removing his tie before entering a Soho House?
Makes no sense
@MrHarryCole
How can you say that we Brits would ever regard the solution to any crisis or threat on home soil as "more guns"? It's testosteronic libel.
The results of my poll are in after almost 7000 votes cast:
Theresa May's "no Brexit" deal utterly friendless at 2 per cent, 7 per cent opted for No Deal Brexit, and "no Brexit, please we're British" scoops board with 91 per cent of the votes
Sorry to see
@JoJohnsonUK
resign. He's right that the Government's current proposals are "a travesty of Brexit" and represent a huge democratic deficit - out of Europe but run by Europe. However, a 2nd referendum is not the way forward and is not supported by the public.
Why oh why does Theresa May say she has to "deliver THE Brexit people voted for"? I wouldn't baulk if she said "deliver Brexit" as this was the result of the referendum but this formulation about the mythical bespoke Brexit of 2016 makes me clutch my pearls
For those who missed
@BHL
tonight:
1. Europe died first in Auschwitz and then Sarajevo and will die again if the UK leaves.
2. The tools of democracy are being used to undermine democracy.
3. Brexit is the consecration of Putin and Trump in Europe and the triumph of stupidity.
Credit must be paid to

Could any openly feminist women with media platforms please watch the Screams Before Silence documentary by

before denying that rapes, mutilations and murders took place on 7/10 and semaphoring to their audiences that Jewish women don’t count…
Few have written as many words attacking me as
@OborneTweets
over the years. I forgive him every one of them for this seminal piece on Brexit. This is the kind of honesty and seriousness we need from our politicians right now.
I made a moronic reference to "Gaelic" in my tweet about TV coverage of the Irish abortion referendum yesterday and Twitter has rightly pointed out in how many ways I fecked up in using that word. Sorry.
Spare a thought this morning for health secretary
@MattHancock
who has such enormous responsibility right now and is working crazy hours trying to help the nation beat this. The hourly judgements he and

have to make are so difficult

I walked into the newsroom
@lbc
at 5pm and everyone was very quiet - and then someone took me aside and told me your mother had died.
There was a real sense of mourning.
I’m sorry - she had become a part of the lives, too, of the millions who listened to your show. Sending love
EU has just voted to approve the trade deal between EU and Japan. Taking 5 years to negotiate, it represents a third of the world's GDP.
Deal will cut prices for consumers in both EU and Japan and comes into force just as the UK leaves the EU.

As it’s Mother’s Day here’s one of my own mother’s unbeatable instructions which is what she always says to me in a crisis:
“It is urgent...to do nothing.”
Canada, security in Blue Mountain Ontario assaults a man in front of his wife and children for not wearing a medical mask despite being exempt. This is the result of the mandates created by some governments to oppress honest people, including Italy.
@SebastianEPayne
At last an explanation for Brexit: a movement led by mainly public school males born after the end of rationing in the 50s who wouldn’t care if they weren’t “served” a green vegetable ever again

Tested today at a drive-through Covid centre after booking appointment online (as I live with shielded person and could be asymptomatic carrier). Took one hour. Very efficient. Calm and quick. And excellent test of the gag reflex.
Nigel Farage looking & sounding like a leader on
#Marr
. Love him or loathe him, at least he believes in what he says & argues it with passion. His popularity comes from his authenticity & his new surge is happening because democracy is being denied to those who voted for Brexit.

There have been many tributes to my late mother, the painter Charlotte Johnson Wahl, but this one gives her the proper artistic recognition she never sought
For all her flaws May has served as a vessel into which countless problems intrinsic to Brexit have been poured. I don't think Tories are prepared for what happens when it finally breaks.

Piers, love, could you see your way to giving a little credit to those of us got off our fat arses and marched instead of watching the footie. At least we all made an effort and if ever there was time for a futile gesture it is now
Why does the
@BBCNews
always put the most negative slant when reporting on Brexit. It is almost as if certain of their journalists really want us to Remain -surely not !!!!!!!!
Boris Johnson has called for an end to the "cringing embarrassment about our history" after the BBC axed the lyrics from Last Night of the Proms favourites such as Land Of Hope And Glory.

I’m afraid to say this is rubbish. I said last night at a charity do that the family avoids the topic of Brexit especially at meals as we don’t want to gang up on the PM!
Don’t usually do this as people should pay for news but this is too important.
It’s not enough merely to be alive, we must live too.
The “Don’t Kill Granny” slogan is as Alice Thomson correctly says in
@thetimes
, “horrific”
According to
@michaelgove
, if I’ve heard this right, the major plus of leaving the EU is that UK politicians won’t be able to blame the EU for things that weren’t the fault of the EU in the first place....
The EU was never properly explained to the Brtish public; just used as a scapegoat for anything and everything by the UK Govt and the tabloids. This is Conservative MEP
