I wish coaches would stop making blanket statements about GPA’s, Test Scores, and everything else. I went to HS with, recruited, and currently teach kids w/ GROWN man problems. Sorry he didn’t do well his first two years. He was homeless, dad dead, momma on drugs.

If I get a call about a job, I always have someone to give the HC if it isn’t the right fit for me. We’re all in this together. I’ve gotten interviews because of this. I’ve helped ppl get jobs by doing this. Hey coach, if it doesn’t work for me, take a hard look at xyz.

Kid is 17 w/ more issues than you can imagine. But he never complains & made the best of the hand he was dealt. He’s going to make a coach happy at the next level. The same way he made us proud. A kid shouldn’t have to endure so much at that age, but he’s handled it like a champ

There's no such thing as a good or bad job. It really boils down to your administration. Are they willing to give you what you need to be successful? If so, you have a chance. Be realistic w/ the expectations. If your administration doesn't back you, you will fail.

Let me clear a few things up. We had an athletic trainer last year. We’ll have one this year. This isn’t just about Rio. My players will never go without. This is a CA issue. The state should value AT’s the way the rest of the country does. Every school should have one.

Interviewing is a skill. It is a skill you must practice. Only way to practice is to go on interviews. You can hone your skills. You get a database of questions to prepare you for the next one. Even if it is a sham interview, take it. Evaluate yourself after. Take notes

Parents & players also need to realize stats don't = college prospect. No different than college players transitioning to the NFL. Yes, you had 1,200 receiving yards, but the kid w/ 700 yds can take a 6 yd hitch for an 80 yd TD.
