Jamie-Lee Harvie, 12, who had been missing from Ayr since Tues, 14 March has been traced safe and well by officers in the Irvine area this afternoon.

Sgt Douglas Clark thanks Josh Bennett and Lacey Robinson, both aged 7, who found a 95-year-old male who was missing and suffering from dementia so that he could return home. Sgt Clark said, "We are very proud of what Josh and Lacey have done. I know their family are also proud."
On 22 August 1896, Sgt. Downie was killed whilst on duty - making his way home after policing Irvine’s Marymass festival. Chief Superintendent Hussain laid a wreath in memory of Sgt. Downie and all fallen officers - 126 years to the day since the incident:

We are aware of public concerns relating to a video circulating on social media. On 16/05/19 a 39 yr old Ayr man was arrested & charged in relation to as offence under the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act regarding the incident. He was held for Court & a full report sent to the PF.

Officers investigating the violent assault on a 13 year old boy in Kilbirnie on Sunday 8th November 2020 which has featured on online forums have arrested a 14 year old male in connection with this crime. Our investigation continues to trace the others involved.
