I am hugely honoured to see my name feature among the Irish Examiner’s list of 100 trailblazing women changing Ireland in this weekend’s paper ahead of International Women’s Day 2024. Thank you 🤍
Walking along Liberty Street in Cork City as I frequently do, tonight I will be sure to think of Bruna Fonseca, whose life was stolen this time last year. Always remembered. Never forgotten.
Delighted the
#latelateshow
had the Two Norries on tonight. James and Timmy are exceptional people whose podcast shows us that no matter what life has thrown you, there is hope. The future belongs to those who can see it. Congrats and continued success🤍
Take a look at these gorgeous bears which are handmade in Cork by a relative, with the clothes of people’s loved ones. A really thoughtful way of keeping our departed family and friends with us and around us, long after they’ve gone:
It’s been a difficult week but I’m truly grateful to everyone who has shown such support, understanding & empathy. I value every kind word & cherish every message. Thank you. No better way to start the weekend than a surprise delivery🤍
What a privilege to be invited into studio and gifted the lads’ Justice Media Award. Thank you Grace, Timmy, James and Rowan - I was so moved by that. Bonus getting to meet the lovely Ryan Tubridy and sit in on his podcast recording - it’s a good one 🎙🤍✨
Just had a lovely conversation with the kind individual who left this note under my windscreen wiper. Very minor damage to a wing mirror (which was on its last legs anyway!) Mighty chat was had. Most folks are good folks 🤍
It was a real privilege for our ‘Medical Inquests’ to be jointly named ‘Practical Irish Law Book of the Year’ at the DSBA Irish Law Book Awards 2024. Thank you for the recognition

The most important things are accomplished by people who keep on trying when there seems to be no hope. Lynsey Bennett

made broken look beautiful this week. One day people will say, because of her, they didn’t give up

It’s always a pleasure to be greeted by the wonderful
@Patrick94137061
at Cork Kent. He’s a credit to
@IrishRail
and the loyal passengers like us who would be only lost without him 🚊❤️
“I always thought if I could get better, I could get away from him.”
- Disgusted with today’s news. Nothing to say about the perpetrator or the sentence he was handed down. But by god, that woman deserves so much credit and so much love 🤍
#CoerciveControl
Very pleased to see sepsis awareness placed firmly on the political agenda today by the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Health
@SeanCroweTD
let’s keep the momentum going. Lives literally depend on it 🇮🇪
Happy end of term to all my legal friends! And now
@DecPierce
will you please play us Underworld ‘Two Months Off’ this weekend to celebrate?

All is calm, all is bright... Thinking especially of those who can’t be with the person or people they love this year because of restrictions or otherwise. Blessings to you this Christmas✨
At this sad time my thoughts and prayers are with those who knew and loved Vicky in life. She was never going to live forever… but she has created something that will. Thank you Vicky - your legacy here is eternal and you can never be forgotten. Shine on 🤍
We had the honour of being presented with a cheque today by Denise, Mary and Mark from the Department of Agriculture. They recently fundraised in aid of
@IrishSepsis
in memory of their colleague Fiona’s husband who tragically lost his life to sepsis ❤️
If you’re Irish do you remember when you were small and you fell and cut your knee, the grown-ups would say: “Don’t worry - you’ll be better before you’re married.” What kind of comfort was that supposed to provide?!

I hope everyone is watching 'Laura Brennan: This Is Me' again on
@RTEOne
You couldn't but be moved to tears by her story. So brave and so inspiring.

I wouldn’t recommend a same-day round trip from Cork to Ballina after a long week, but we had a lovely time in
@MountFalconEst
with good friends and it more than made up for the stress of getting there! Thank you to everyone who supported ‘Medical Inquests’🤍
Modernizing the coroners system could make the process of inquest less traumatic for everybody involved, not least the grieving family at the centre of it. It is a vital service for society & a very good one, but - room for improvement.

‘I remember going off in the ambulance and I told my 10-year-old son that mummy would be home in a few days. It was 50 days before we saw each other again.’
@LouiseCrowley2
thank you for sharing this important message.
I was in the cemetery a while ago and a lovely woman standing nearby started talking to me. She was visiting her husband’s grave which is back-to-back with my cousin’s. She told me that they all got Covid earlier this year, and he died.
As I prepare to wave 33 farewell tomorrow I thought I’d put together some ‘treasures of truth’ to bring with me for the journey. One for each year. Here we go…
Thanks to
@EoinBearla
and
@irishexaminer
for highlighting this important issue. Litigation can be a force for good as long as lessons are learned when things go wrong
Often it’s the people who have the least give the most. I received an unexpected gift today. Still thinking about it as the day ends. Kindness really is everything 🤍
If we were told there was a tsunami or tornado coming we would all be scrambling for safe shelter and trying desperately to protect our loved ones. Can’t understand why people are so quick to dismiss NPHET’s warnings and reject the advice

Thanks to
@lawlessj
and the Joint Committee on Justice for putting examination of the coroners service on the agenda this week - and well done to all involved in the discussion as to how and why we must improve our system of medicolegal death investigation 🤍
In July 2022, a member of An Garda Síochána was convicted of Coercive Control.
Now, his victim gives up her anonymity to tell of the horrific abuse she suffered while pregnant and fighting terminal cancer.

There are about 12,000 people in Ireland living with Parkinson’s disease. I didn’t know much about it, but
@aocdotme
sharing her story this weekend is very brave, has been really eye-opening 🤍
Throwback Tuesday! Be sure to pick up your copy of The Echo today and read all about it. Big thanks to
@Donal_OKeeffe
for taking the time to talk to me about doing work experience with the paper that has served Cork since 1892🤍
Choking, drowning, stroke...most of us know some basic first aid. But if somebody is suicidal, do you know what to say and do? I just completed the

Back in June an artist from Westmeath reached out & said she heard

If you’re in town tomorrow with a minute to spare, wander in and see “Il Presepio” (the Italian crib) in St. Peter and Pauls - and don’t forget to look around the back! It is really a sight to behold ⭐️
There are so many beautiful reasons to be happy in this world. The return of the trolley service is certainly one of them. Barry’s tea never tasted so good

There are no words, just our sympathy and prayers with the family and friends of Ashling Murphy. A young woman with a lifetime ahead of her and so much to give, all suddenly taken yesterday in one shocking and senseless act of violence.
My friend Claire discusses the delay, deny, defend culture within our health service which she has first-hand experience of in the Sunday Times 🤍
