Meet Knox! Knox is about to have a birthday and was very upset to find his bike was stolen from in front of his house. Officers couldn't stand to see him upset and took it upon themselves to turn his birthday around by purchasing a bike for him with their own money.

LPD joined in honoring fallen firefighter/pilot Marc Thor Olson as a motorcade carried him home to Fort Morgan today. Overhead flew two single-engine air tankers of the type Olson was flying when he died Nov. 16 in a crash fighting the Kruger Rock Fire south of Estes Park.

This is John. A couple of weeks ago he lost his home to a fire. While @LovelandFRA was completing overhaul, they located a burnt American flag. Members of the LPD veterans group got John a new flag and after flying it over the police department for 24 hours, presented it to him.

On 10/23 a resident had a cardiac event while in the car. Officers performed CPR until EMS arrived to transport the driver to the hospital. EMS was grateful for the officers ability to perform life saving measures until they arrived. We are proud of our officers efforts to help!

LPD joins region's emergency service agencies in a procession to carry the body of firefighting pilot Marc Thor Olson to Fort Morgan. 10 a.m. route: I-25, Fort Collins to Loveland, U.S. 34 from Loveland eastward. Olson died when his tanker plane crashed fighting Kruger Rock Fire.

On 1/26/23 LPD responded to a car accident resulting in a car fire. Officers pulled the only victim, who was unconscious, to safety. "I am beyond proud of the heroic actions and quick thinking our officers took by pulling the victim to safety" said Assistant Chief Ray Butler.

Say hi to Pako!🐾 Pako is a Belgian Malinois and was born in the Netherlands in 2016. He is trained in patrol and narcotic detection and his commands are in Dutch. Pako's handler, Ofc Garry, is LPD's only female handler and the 2nd female handler our department has ever had.

This weekend K9 Nazar and his handler recovered 23.12g of suspected heroin, 25 Alprazolam pills, 111 Xanax pills, 75 Trazadone pills, 46g of suspected methamphetamine, 5 Fentanyl pills, cash and a handgun that was reported stolen out of Fort Collins from a vehicle. Good boy, Naz.

On 7/5 officers responded to single car crash. When officers arrived they found the driver was unconscious and not breathing. Officers acted quickly and began CPR. Later officers were informed by EMS the male was awake and walking around the ICU. Outstanding work! #proud

16-YEAR OLD IN CUSTODY FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER LOVELAND –On 10/1/22 LPD received reports of a single gunshot at the Loveland Sports Park. There were no injuries reported. Yesterday, 10/5/22, Detectives were able to locate and take into custody a 16-year old suspect.

Please slow down in school zones. We have school zones that flash as early as 7:25am and as late as 4:45pm. When the flashers are on the speed limit is 20mph. Speeding in a school zone will result in a ticket with double the fine, but more importantly puts our kids at risk
