2024 is going to be a very different year for me. I am getting a divorce. I am breastfeeding my 22 month old still. I am writing my first R01. I am supporting my lab, as much as right now, they are supporting me. One thing, I know in my heart for sure... things are gonna change.

Let's say you work an 8hr workday. Now let's say you're exclusively breastfeeding your infant. Now subtract 2hr for pumping sessions throughout day to maintain milk supply. Now you have 6hr day & are expected to produce 8hrs of work. @Momademia not possible.

It’s funny how many people have opinions about how you should breastfeed your child. It’s really hard so perhaps keep those opinions inside your head? BF parents are working immensely hard to juggle everything and we can’t get it perfect every time. @Momademia

I think the most beautiful moment of my life just happened. My toddler literally sang herself sweetly to sleep. I sat alone in a dark room listening to the baby monitor, crying because this is the kind of life moment you just can’t manufacture. @Momademia

Friendly reminder it is unnecessary to remind pregnant people of your personal opinion that 'birth is disgusting' I think people forget they are all born?! I'm really looking forward to meeting my baby and birth is a pretty crucial part of that process ♥️🙏🏼✨🤦🏻‍♀️🤰🏻 @Momademia

This was before I saw the news this morning. It's hard to put into words what I'm feeling. I know I'll never stop fighting for my daughter. She deserves healthcare and equality. @Momademia Please...Vote to support women's reproductive health! Vote for better gun safety measures!

What's the worst thing a mentor ever said to you? I start: "maybe it's better if you don't do a PhD and get married and have kids instead". Rumors said the guy married a former grad student and pushed for the department to hire her as a professor. #AcademicTwitter @Momademia

Sometimes you just need an in-home spa evening to relax! Nothing cuter than babies in their baby towels 😭 I can't really comprehend how fast she is growing - its like >speed of light...now I'm back at work just staving off mom guilt and focusing on the journey! @Momademia

My daughter is happily breastfeeding (with decreasing frequency dictated by her) after her second birthday and I consider it a huge achievement, glad it worked out this way in light of the divorce transition. Worth every single second of having to pump. @Momademia 🍼

Hadn't done laundry bc you know... Newborn life is NUTS and I'm back to work now, so grabbed a random pair of jeans in the laundry room (in our basement) only to discover while sitting in my office I'm 99% sure the cat peed on them and I smell like urine. Send help 🤦🏻‍♀️ @Momademia

We have reached a point where it is cheaper to order an RNAScope probe than an antibody! The FOXP3 antibody we use for human tissue is now 789$!! 🥲🥶
