Investor, teacher, biker.
I post 1 good article on investing and related topics every day; been doing this since 30th March 2015. Hope to continue for long..
This is dangerous 'journalism'. What is the point of this article, other than being click-bait and making investors want to go for the next multibagger penny stock?
The article itself is full of contradictions and carries ZERO research about the company.

| Multibagger stock: If an investor had invested ₹1 lakh in this penny stock one week ago its ₹1 lakh would have turned to ₹1.21 lakh today

When over-valuation persists, a seemingly irrelevant trigger is all it takes to bring valuations back to earth. The trigger is merely an excuse.
After that, analysing whether the trigger was relevant is quite irrelevant.

So, what works? This has always been THE question!
Answer: wrong question! What works for YOU is the right question!
Just be true to yourself!
From tomorrow, I will be posting a series of articles on concepts from other disciplines of study, like sciences, history etc which can be applied to investing. Hope you find then useful.

V imp topic in current scenario, since no one seems to have lost money in the last 15-18 months and everyone looks like a genius!
Some stuff from my side..sorry this is gonna be a longish thread, but necessary in current times..

So I completed my Paytm KYC today and a savings account in Paytm Payments Bank automatically got opened. Whether I want it or not.
Soon we'll see articles showcasing how many people have "opened" savings accounts with Paytm and a rise in Paytm's 'valuation' is assured.
Cool!!

turned 4 recently! 🥳
That's more than 1450 articles on a variety of topics related to investing. Staggering amount of stuff to read out there!
Doing this has been really helpful for me. Hope you have found it useful too.
If you want to improve the way you read, understand and digest books, I highly recommend that you read the chapter "Literature" from the book below. One of my all-time favorite books.
In a down-market, we tend to look at what has fallen most, which stocks have hit yearly low etc, in order to find stuff to buy.
What we don't realise is that more often than not, the best ideas to buy are already in our portfolio. Be selective, buy more! Don't be distracted.
Is this us?
2014-Dec 2017: portfolio company eps went up from 10 to 12, but stock price went up from 100 to 500. "Totally my skill"💪
Jan 2018 onwards, eps up from 12 to 13, but stock price down from 500 to 300. "I can't understand what's happening, I blame the mkt" 💔
Sir this amazing data. And it's high time then, that you stop calling fund/money managers for interview on your channel and start calling bank branch managers.

Ok all those who said not fair comparing post market crash....this is November 2019 data....FD returns beat almost all on 3 and 5 year performance.....FD dont charge hefty fees and give u exit whenever. ....
Longevity is the hallmark of an exceptional investor. And managing public money of this magnitude , being scrutinized all the time, even more so. A monumental achievement. Hats off.
Happy to share that is one year old! 🥳 And it's been an interesting start!
I started the website with the usual reservations and doubts. 'Without buy/sell recommendation, who will want to subscribe' etc.
1/9..
I like our work. We (most of us have never run a business) predict numbers and if the company declares results below our predictions, we get to say 'the company underperformed'.
Not us, the company. 🤘
Hope the meteorological dept doesn't take a cue from us. 😋
Wow! Take a bow

Anyone who says it is impossible to uncover frauds/red flags in numbers should please check what they had written in the past about this. Great case-study in itself.
When you publicly commit something, you are automatically under pressure to do it. And it usually ends up improving and helping you only the most.

A cool Sherlock quote on this: Intuitions are not to be ignored John. They represent data processed too fast for the conscious mind to comprehend.
So on a whatsapp group, there was a huge discussion on car demand, Uber, Ola, disruption, millennials and stocks. Eventually everyone agreed that we actually don't know enough things to form a firm opinion on this.
Then there was a big discussion on how we don't know things 😶🥺
Problem: There are 1200-1500 Corporate Announcements on BSE Everyday.
The important ones are only 50-60.
Missing the important ones??

452 kms range, 80% charge in under an hour, 1.6 lakh kms warranty on the battery. Cost is high, as with all new technologies, which comes down pretty fast. Disruption is real and we need to take cognizance of the same.
This thread is just for collating the latest 'financial-world-ending-news', on which a lot of discussions happened on Twitter/WA. I am doing it just for myself, I might miss some, and I am ok with it. I am doing it as something i can look back upon..
I'll keep on updating it.
We were talking about what all can change post this lockdown. Habits, businesses, etc.
A friend gave a really interesting, thought-provoking answer..
Lots of things in the short term, few in the medium term and nothing in the long term!
The objective here is to convey my thoughts on what should an equity investor do now. I intend to be concise and very much to the point. Also, I get to wear a formal shirt after a really long time, so it's a total win-win. 😁

Market is factoring-in a lot of things in this space, look before you leap!
I understand this might be meant to inspire & motivate.
But writing about intraday trading and option writing (which is ok) by taking a personal loan (which is dangerous) is not responsible journalism.
Such get-rick-quick techniques can be disastrous.
As the re-opening euphoria goes on, note that DSP Small Cap Fund fell by 67% temporarily, over one 1-yr period. So only if you can stay invested for the long term (7yrs+) & live through short-term fluctuations, invest now:

The market is kind enough to allow me to recycle my old article. Absolutely nothing changes, same cycles keep on repeating again and again. If you don't read the date, you will feel like this is a article about the current situation!

One superb investor talking about his learning from another superb investor with a third superb investor!
This is the 18th tweet in the series of Indian investors' interviews. Few more good ones coming up.
