During the last war of Kosovo in 1999, the Serbian army shot and burned the Catholic Albanian Church of Korenica. Everything was destroyed except the statue of Saint Michael the Archangel which survived. In 2014, the Church was rebuilt by both the Catholic and Dervish population.

In 1999, Serbia was at a war they started themselves with Albanians in Kosovo. The bombings are a normal process during a war, just like many countries were bombed during WW2. It happened in answer of mass killings on Albanian civilians. You are the agressors, not the victims.

One of the principal virtues wich have a central place among the Albanian Highlander is friendship. The Kanun says: "Kush s'din shka âsht miku, aj s'â i shqyptár" (Who doesn't value his friend, thee is not Albanian). Here is the example of Keqa Zeka who died for his friend:

Gjakovë, 1942: Albanians celebrating 28th of November for the first time after 20 years (since Austro-Hungarians left the country). 28th of November is the Independence day of Albania from the Ottomans, in 1444 by Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg as well as in 1912.

During the Ottoman period in the Balkans, the Catholic Albanian Church had to pay a double tribute, one to the Sultan (the jizya) and an other one to the Patriarch of Constantinople, since this one had convinced the Sultan to make "the Latin" pay.

Spain (Al Andalus) was Muslim until 1500. The reconquista took 800 years. Europe gave a chance to Spain, but not to Albania, who was Catholic and resisted heroically until 1800, without any support from the West. Since the French Revolution, Europe had changed. 🔽

A Paleo-Christian church found in the old location of Hoti, Malsi e Madhe. This is supposed to have been built in the 5th century, making it the oldest church in Albania and the Balkans ✝️🇦🇱

In 1913 during the first Balkan War, although Albanians were in a bad situation, the city of Ferizaj continued its resistence. There is this interesting anecdote of an Albanian woman who, after the Serbian army killed her husband, took his rifle, killed 5 of them before khs.
