Today our kitchen staff across the three prisons will serve over 1300 Christmas dinners for the people in our care.

Maghaberry has partnered with

to give over 30 children, whose relatives are in our care, a ‘Halloween Hamper’ with pumpkins, activity packs and sweets. Great work by all involved.
The Prison Service introduced virtual visits just over a month ago. Last week almost 600 visits took place.
That included families from as far away as China, Lithuania and the USA. The reaction from everyone has been overwhelmingly positive.

Staff and prisoners at Maghaberry have been working to support those in our community who need extra help this Christmas. Ten crates of food, 200 selection boxes, 500 tray bakes, 500 pieces of shortbread and £2,000 was recently delivered to a local Food Bank. 1/2

The Cove was designed and built by staff and the men in our care at Magilligan. It took 30 people just over two months to transform the area into the new play area. Before and after photos demonstrate the skill and effort of everyone who took part. Well done.

Amazing initiative at Maghaberry. One Officer mentored a man in our care in the art of crocheting - as a result he is now teaching others, adding new skills and activity hours.
The plan is to donate baby hats and blankets to a local Maternity Unit. Watch this space!

This Christmas marks the 5th anniversary of the opening of the Riverside café at Maghaberry. It gives men in our care catering skills & some have left custody into employment within hospitality – over the 5 years the Riverside has also raised over £45,000 for local charities.
The women in our care at Hydebank have been busy making up Christmas baskets for Greerville Manor Care Home. Great work by everyone, and special thanks to our staff who have supported the work. Well done.
