The WTO is another impediment. The last Ministerial conference was mostly process and little substance. I call for the termination of the Agreement on Agriculture and TRIPS. This would make way for international food agreements that treat food like food and not commodities. /6

All of this is to say—this is not the story of two countries fighting. It is decades of occupation, displacement, and apartheid. One regime governing two peoples under vastly different rules. None of this is secret or even contested. And we need to stop pretending otherwise.

Even though I knew the US would veto the resolution calling for a humanitarian ceasefire, I still gasped and my heart started racing. This moment reverberated around the world. If we don't prevent this genocide, we'll soon see many more in other places against other peoples.

Gov't are saddled with HUGE debt b/c they needed 💵 to tackle the pandemic. How to pay for the changes? Gov'ts already devote huge amounts of 💰to food systems. But most of it goes to corporations that poison people and the environment. Best to repurpose existing budgets. /4

This is why simply calling for shorter supply chains misses the point. The underlying problem remains that one corporation has so much power in a supply chain that it dictates how land is used.
