No way, Matthasnocuts hates Sonamy????
Well yes but actually no.
In today's video I discuss the dumbest arguments that the Sonic community has ever had.
While also taking a stance on all of them!
Link to video below:
Listen, quit shaming my little man Morio Kishimoto.
-He develops Sonic games through crunch culture.
-Has to deal with low budgets.
-Listens to Sonic fans all day.
-He's getting his work criticized constantly.
If the man wants to beat his meat, let him beat his meat!
My theater experience:
- There was a toddler behind me explaining to his mother every bit of Sonic lore that existed. The kid might have known more than me.
- So many baby children screamed at the reveal of Shadow. Then there was one guy who yelled "Ayo who the fuck is that?"
Ok actual fun story:
One time I was playing Sonic Mania on a call with my ex. She asked what I was playing. I said Sonic Mania.
She then proceeded to talk about how much she loves Sonic Forces. She even showed me her custom avatar.
We broke up the month after.
Isn't it cool seeing everyone be excited for an announcement and not crying and having a mass debate in the community?
This is what trust feels like. 😔😔
"I do not make jokes. I make warriors."
Watch the first trailer for Knuckles, the new Sonic the Hedgehog spin-off series premiering on Paramount+ April 26.
-We support Morio Kishimoto-
Not everything Kishimoto does is perfect but he's certainly doing the best he can.
He shows a level of transparency that no other game director shows, thus breaking the barrier between players and developers.
-We trust Kishimoto-
I spoke too soon. As soon as I started watching the video, I realized this was a joke.
MatPat doesn't even hate Sonic Frontiers, he called it the best 3D Sonic game in a while. He just thinks it's unpolished, which is fair.
Well now MatPat is an enemy of this fandom. RIP
Sonic Frontiers may have lost, but the game is still great and we know that.
This award isn't going to matter as much in the grand scheme of things.
Take the loss with pride, we still made it to second place!
Congratulations to Genshin Impact!
Very weird take:
Roger Craig Smith in Sonic Frontiers is probably my favorite take on Sonic.
I know that a lot of people prefer the upbeat edgy teenager.
But honestly, I always saw Sonic as a teenager with the maturity of an adult. Sonic Frontiers fits that bill perfectly.
Maybe Sonic Frontiers really is the next Sonic Unleashed. It seriously felt like that when I was playing it.
If you like the massive journey that Sonic Unleashed had, I think you'll love Sonic Frontiers. I seriously feel like Sonic Unleashed stans will enjoy this game the most.
I didn't see an issue with Sonic's character until I found out Sonic Prime was canon.
Sonic Prime's character works if it's just Sonic from Sonic Prime. But Prime Sonic and game Sonic aren't similar at all. They're vastly different.
That's why I don't like Prime being canon.
I kinda feel bad for the Game Awards man. They just wanted to host a nice poll for players, but then we came in and caused so much pointless drama.
This is a terrible look for this community. Which sucks because it's usually a lot more fun and accepting than it is now.
Congratulations to Sonic Adventure 2 for becoming the most favorited Sonic game by the Sonic community!
Over 20 years later, this game is still kicking ass. 👌🦔🦔
You give SEGA a bone and they will flex those reviews proudly. They deserve it.
Yeah from seeing this, I don't think SEGA sees Sonic Frontiers as a failure. We can rest our worries.
I don't wanna see any of you mfs debating Sonic vs Mario movie when both of these movies are appealing to Hollywood so hard. Both films are pretty much going to be the same, you aren't getting cool lore. These are just fun movies to watch with the family. No minds will be blown.
Sonic Colours with a U is the canonical title for this game. This is because it includes the color of the boost wisp in the title while the American title didn't. So in conclusion, it ain't colors.
The physiognomy of start screens.
The start screen of a game can reveal a lot about how rushed the team was and how much pride they took in their work.
Starfield's start screen either shows hasty shipping deadlines by a passionate team overworked, or a team that didn't care.
As a Sonic fan, it sucks when people call the whole franchise bad.
But it also sucks to see Sonic fans clown on other franchises.
Mario and Sonic are both franchises that have had great influences over the gaming industry. If you haven't tried any Mario games, go give it a try.
I don't get it. What's wrong with Sonic's character in Sonic Prime?
It's Sonic. I don't understand what trait directly contradicts what Sonic as a character.
I'm open discussion because I was honestly surprised when I saw that point of view.
Random Frontiers thoughts:
I haven't played a Sonic game like Sonic Frontiers since Sonic Unleashed. I'm in a strong honey moon phase or it truly was peak.
It's like what Mania was but for fans of the 3D games. To most, the game will be an 8/10. To me it feels better than an 8.
Ok hear me out, Mario and Sonic crossover game would be cool. But what if we had a Sonic and Rayman crossover? We wouldn't have to deal with the nintendo BS and we get MORE Rayman. Also Ubisoft could at the very least let Sonic Team use Rayman since they don't care about him.
I'm dead serious about this by the way. This wasn't the reason why we broke up but this really happened.
However the great damage that has been done to my mental state when finding out someone I cared about liked Sonic Forces can never be fixed. I am scarred.
Look at that idle pose. Perfection. 🤌🤌 *Chef kiss*
It doesn't look awkwardly stiff and it doesn't look like Sonic is preparing to brawl with a grizzly bear.
It may just be ripped from Generations but I'm keeping this on regardless.
Stop worrying about other people's opinions on the Sonic movie, ESPECIALLY if you haven't seen it yet. Just watch the film and figure it out yourself. You don't have to agree with critics or other people, just vibe with it. Stop stressing over a film like this.
Recently my likeness for Sonic Frontiers has begun to fade.
The game felt like 9/10s on the first playthrough. But the more you play it after the first playthrough, it just gets more and more stale. It's hard to play Frontiers for me right now.
I don't see a problem with SEGA pricing Sonic Superstars at $60 as long as it has enough content and it's good.
Just like every other game, if it's peak, it's worth the $60. If it sucks, $60 won't be worth it.
Sounds more like a trust issue than a pricing issue honestly.
Okay Sonic Frontiers may be in yellow on Metacritic but you guys should still definitely try it out.
I had a blast playing the game, it's definitely going to be a special game for a lot of fans. Make your own opinions about the game, don't base it on someone else's.
We got more information about Sonic Frontiers, provided by the legends, TWIP and Jeremias that are looking FANTASTIC!
WE ALSO GOT SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY 2 CONCEPT LEAK! LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I'm ready to stop feeling skeptical with every Sonic game. We've had a lot of great 3D Sonic games but none them feel like it's reached the peak of Sonic's potential.
I want to see SEGA try to make the biggest Sonic game ever. No cutting corners, just fulfilling their ambition.
"Sonic Team needs to stop pandering to nostalgia!" *Proceeds to demand Adventure remakes* We are about to leave an era where Sega is pandering to classic nostalgia and now we are entering the era of pandering to adventure nostalgia. Mark my words.
My friend's little cousin's parents never let him play videogames. Kid is also a massive Sonic and Mario fan. So recently when he came over, I let him play my switch and he loves Mario Odyssey.
He's coming back today and now he's asking me about Kirby. I created a Nintendo fan.
Look I'm not gonna fake the opinion and be optimistic.
You don't have to agree with me, I'm not forcing my "hot takes" onto anyone.
In my opinion, the shadow portion of this Sonic Generations remaster just simply looks like cyberspace featuring Shadow.
Which is disappointing.
I'm making another tweet about this. Sonic Team, that Unleashed music better have not been bait. That was clear bait for Sonic fans who are interested. You only showed Unleashed music and gameplay, nothing else. This is the main advertising for the event. Give us a port.
It's really sad to see when someone tells SEGA to just give up on Sonic The Hedgehog. Like damn, I've seen SEGA do way better, they have made some of my favorite videogames. All I see in Sonic is potential and telling SEGA to give up is killing the possibility of a special game.
There may have been some disappointing things coming out about about Sonic Frontiers recently.
Yes those things are bad and shouldn't be defended.
You should criticize the game, do it.
However, seriously give this game a chance. The good in many cases can outweigh the bad.
There was a time where Pokémon was one of the best Nintendo franchises.
The DS era was peak.
Generation 5 specifically, Pokémon Black & White showed so much polish and FELT like a AAA game. It seemed like the DS's hardware was being used to genuinely make the game better.
