You were 30 by time we met again. Vaguely recalled boy Iโd seen thru endless court appearances, probation, borstal, prison, all for TWOCing. I got you job in garage. 12 yrs later you own that garage because โyou had faith in me, Mrs Fโ

Sad to say, Mrs F snr died yesterday, as she wished, in her own home with her son by her side. Not even 5ft tall, Beryl Hilma Furniss (1932 - 2019) was no sweet little old lady. Born in Sheffield she had steel, toughness, determination, all mixed together with warmth & humour 1/
@Joanna__Hardy
Twice my father put me on train at Derby to St Pancras to be met by grandparents. Bottle of water, apple & the Bobbsey Twins or Famous Five to read. Asked nice lady if I could sit opposite her & said I'd be no trouble. I was 10 when he died so probably 7 & 8 on each journey
Someone in our village is getting v cross. A couple of weeks ago sign said 'please clean up after your dog'. Last week 'why are you so inconsiderate? If the rest of us can clean up after our dogs, so can you'.

The herd in the fields near our new home are the official jersey cows which produce Longley Farm milk. They make beautiful natural yogurt which I prefer to the fruit ones
We dropped printed drinks invitations into our neighbours today. Several came out to chat & accept. One man abruptly told us through window 'don't bother with leaflet; we're not interested ' ๐ฎ Another added us to the small what's app group.
Just had this set of exchanges ๐คฃ

I met Sir David Amess several times some years ago. We disagreed on several issues. He was warm, friendly, funny & excellent constituency MP. His death resulted from how available he was to the public. A dreadful end to a life dedicated to democracy. Condolences to his family

Reading lots of Family Court case material. I really don't know how you family lawyers & Judges live with this evidence & manage to sleep at night. I couldn't do your jobs but I'm glad some of you can, on behalf of children everywhere

Pls legal twitter, let your clients know they can register to vote even if they don't have a fixed address. Now we know the date let's make sure everyone can exercise their fundamental right!
Really don't think we're jumping the gun on this. Make yourself heard. You don't need a fixed address in order to register to vote:

A tragic case for all involved. Huge sympathy for parents of Brianna Ghey, I also feel for parents of Scarlett Jenkinson & Eddie Ratcliffe whose lives have been changed forever by their children's unfathomable acts. Jurors & Mrs Justice Yip likely affected by this trial forever

It's a great feeling when in 2 successive days, 2 talented women you've been mentoring, call to tell you a) she's been appointed CEO &
b) she's secured a role you encouraged her to apply for. So rewarding helping others to succeed in their careers!
Thank you for kind messages & positive vibes. Had a call from Prof Hart; Mr F's hip op went really well. I've spoken to a groggy Mr F who says, 'I'm going to sleep, then walk a few steps with physio, then eat fish & chips & then sleep again'. So relieved; he's himself!
Had 6 great friends for first dinner party in 3 yrs at home last night. Spent most of day preparing & cooking & felt so out of practice got stage fright just before they arrived! No left overs so it seems to have gone well
