I had my worst fall yet last night down the stairs after saying night to my daughter. Knocking me unconscious. Very traumatic for my wife & kids. My son had to call an ambulance while my wife attended to me Thank you to the paramedics & hospital staff for looking after me🙏🏼 #MND

Not long after I was diagnosed with #MND in 2018, I joined a clinical trial called MIROCALS In Dec 2022 the initial trial data showed a significant slowing of progression in trial participants who received low dose Interleukin 2. The MND community are now demanding further action

Back at Neurology today over 3 years since my first appointment which led to my #MND diagnosis. When I was first diagnosed the prognosis was not good to say the least. But with a lot of support & a positive attitude, I’m grateful to be continuing to beat the odds. #nevergivingup

Yesterday my daughters Brownie group held a Danceathon in aid of the @MNDoddie5 foundation, and have currently raised £1422, which is an amazing total for a group of kids to have achieved. They put in so much effort on the day wearing their @DoddieWeir5 headbands 😄💙💛

Today I went to watch my son’s football at a local community club. 6 disabled spaces in the car park taken & not one disabled badge displayed 😡 Meaning we had to park on an access road & walk over 200m with my walker on a pot holed road. Can’t believe how often this happens!!

My MIROCALS / IL2 UPDATE‼️ Today I was told that despite the fact I took part in the MIROCALS clinical trial & ILTOO want to supply the potentially groundbreaking #MND drug. An NHS committee have decided that as the trial was in Glasgow & I live 150 miles away, I CAN’T GET IT 😡

These restrictions around being able to watch our kids take part in outdoor sports surely needs to be reviewed. Due to my mobility issues I need help to get anywhere. So the one parent rule doesn’t work for people like me. All this while people can meet up & drink inside pubs 😡

The latest hurdle for #MND patients in the UK !! We already have enough challenges on a day to day basis without having to deal with a shortage of our only approved medication. This needs to be sorted fast !! #Riluzole

50% of people with #ALS #MND die within 2 years of first symptoms. Riluzole improves survival by about 35% and is the only licensed disease-modifying therapy for this condition in the UK. Riluzole must be made available for people living with ALS / MND.

So sad to hear this news last night. Any loss to Motor Neurone Disease hits me hard. David joined Peterhead FC not long after I had left the club. So I never got to meet him. But have heard he was a great person & player. My thoughts go out to his family and friends ❤️
