A lot of us are very unhappy with Kim Kardashian admitting she exercised and ate v little to fit into a dress. We don’t seem to be as upset when a jockey or a boxer does it. The Met Gala is her Olympics. I’m not saying either is right, but the reactions are interesting.

My Irish in laws really irritate me. We have an 18 month old and they have no regards for his routine, or our plans. They just turn up unannounced and let themselves in. Any time, day or night. "It's the Irish way" apparantly. The English way is now leaving the chain on.

Unless my eyes have deceived me, I’ve seen many a consultant work evenings and weekends. And they’re regularly on call. But just like every other healthcare professional there aren’t enough of them. Consultants aren’t the problem here… a lack of them is.

Was in a microbiology lecture (off all places!!) today when my phone went nuts. Cos of this! I don’t care if I’m being super uncool, I’m so delighted to be shortlisted among these amazing broadcasters who I’m lucky to call friends and colleagues. Thanks @IMRORadioAwards 📻

Read this thread. Get angry. Demand change. We probably have 5,000 daily cases in Ireland. We don’t have ONE public health consultant. Our experts are insulted/underfunded/underpaid by being called specialists. And are doing work on paper due to lack of IT. They are drowning.

Everyone knows that the case numbers in Ireland aren't real, right? Or rather, that they're wildly undercounted? That we've hit a ceiling of 1700 cases per day *because that's the max no. of cases that can be confirmed* by an over-subscribed public health system, right? Right?

A lot of outrage about a current affairs programme showing exactly what it’s like to be treating Covid patients & how ill these patients are. The programme has been invited in & instead of outrage about showing us the reality maybe aim it toward those who encouraged this reality.

We’ve found the kids, spoke to their dad, and because they’re sound humans and stole our hearts they’re getting some stuff sent to them from kind people like @1884Sport and @Irl_PopCornCo Sometimes the internet is lovely!

I worked in news and current affairs for years. Understanding referendums was my bread and butter and I struggled with this one. This was the worst case of communication from government I’ve ever seen. Not one yes campaigner at my door, a few popped up on my social media.

OK the point of this, just to ram it home, is begging you to please spare Irish speakers the ‘education’ discourse. It’s a living language to some of us. We don’t mind if you aren’t interested but don’t reduce us to a discussion about the Leaving. We’re more than a curriculum.

This ad is perfection. Fair play to @lidl_ireland who along with TG4 have done such a great job of putting women’s football front and centre. Playing field aint level yet, but it’s getting there.

🚨 Classic #liveline alert. 🚨 There’s a gentleman on air now complaining about Kerry GAA players having disgusting tattoos and they’re doing it because they’re influenced by the NFL in Australia. They’re bringing the GAA into disrepute by looking like gurriers!

And this crap of ‘people are confused by the mixed messaging.’ People were never confused. People chose to be confused as it suited what they wanted to do (remember the craic about travel abroad during the summer?!) Most of us got the message from day one.
