My Dad passed away suddenly last week. He was my hero and my best friend for a very long time. I don’t have words to express how much I will miss him. Rest In Peace, Daddy. I’ll see you on the other side.
For the first time ever, every dog has been adopted in the Friends of Palm Beach County kennel.
Pet adoption rates have been on the rise during the
#coronavirus
pandemic in the U.S.
I'm actually crying. Hard. For all women who have ever had their lives affected by the horror that is sexual assault, harassment, abuse, misconduct, etc. Whatever you want to call it. Ladies. We finally have a voice.

Signs don’t vote, I know. But there sure are a lot of these in my liberal NoVa neighborhood. If Youngkin gets the W, it will be in large part because of education policy. It’s obvious (to me) that McAuliffe really thinks govt knows best. It doesn’t.

My nephew has autism and that's how I was taught to address it. I genuinely didn't mean to offend anyone - I really thought that person-first language was preferred. I apologize.
Some personal news: Today is my first day working for my own company, Zelt Communications. I am so grateful for the support of
@FP1Strategies
in this process and excited to begin a new chapter in my life!
I'm a Christian. I'm a conservative. I'm a registered Republican. I'm a woman. I'm a member of the
#metoo
club. And I'm praying for Doug Jones to prevail tonight.
Good stuff from
@JonahDispatch
as always. I’d add that it would be a real slap in the face to taxpayers like me. Been paying my undergrad loans for 10+ years, even when it was wildly difficult for me to do so. I signed up for it. It’s my job to handle it.
Many people have responded to me and let me know that I was wrong about this. I apologize, very sincerely. I did not mean to offend anyone. And I am glad to have a better understanding now.
I was married years ago. Got divorced. All ok. Happy for his new life. BUT. I just moved into a single family home for the first time since divorce. Tomorrow. I’m going to go buy the couch I really, really wanted when we were married. Cheers to weird but tangible accomplishments

Taking my sweet rescue pup who is approx 14-15 years old to the vet this afternoon. Good vibes plz - she’s in some pain and I’m not sure what’s wrong. Hopefully it’s nothing big.
At the risk of sounding more like a Pollyanna than I generally do, there is nothing more lovely than living life in the present moment. A wonderful thing that it’s taken me a long time to figure out. ❤️
Hey internet - meet Cammie. I decided to adopt her today. Long story, but I believe with my whole heart that Emily sent her to me.
@Ruraldogrescue
will do a home check, and then Cammie will come home to me. She hit the doggie jackpot. I can’t wait to spoil her.
If you’re reading this, know you’re loved. The world is pretty tough out there right now. You’re loved, you can do this and there is light ahead. Always. ❤️
.
@ShannonBream
inspires me in so many ways. It takes a lot of courage to share her darkest thoughts at a difficult time, and I’m so grateful for her openness. The world needs more people like her ❤️
It’s not just anti vaxxer movement anymore. Meet the free canine movement. They apparently believe that my dogs are better off malnourished and sick on the streets than in a loving home. Can’t make it up!
@abegailcave
@LaurenZelt
She should be free to roam in nature and exercise her own agency, like all the other free canines. Do you want to live with your parents in your childhood bedroom forever and never leave the house/neighborhood, even if you are safe and well fed?
Today is my birthday. One of the biggest things I’ve learned in the last year? It takes mindfulness to look not at what you don’t have, but to focus on what you do. And when you do, it’s pretty great. Thankful for a good day & start to another year. 🙏🏼
A family member recorded folks in their community of mostly retired folks singing God Bless America to each other on their balconies. THIS is the good we need right now

A very good perspective, thank you for sharing it. I really do appreciate it. I genuinely thought I was correct when I made my initial tweet and I'm glad you corrected me.
Get ready. They're coming!

I’d love to see a national non-profit create a registry for dogs that have been waiting years for their forever home. I feel like it could help bring together so many dogs and families.
The irreplaceable Emily Jane Zelt crossed the rainbow bridge a year ago today. And I have to laugh because she saw fit to send me not 1 but 2 dogs to fill the void she left. Because 4 paws just wouldn’t be enough ❤️
Mornings are most difficult following my Dad's passing. It's like I have to learn the news and process it all over again every day. But today has been a little less bad. I'm watching church online, planning to pick up groceries and cook dinner. Big progress.

Some weeks, you push the boulder up and over the hill. Some weeks, you just push the boulder up. And some weeks, some weeks you just push. But the important thing is that it doesn’t flatten you. If you’re pushing, you’re not flat. You’re still going. And that’s what matters.
My sweet girl, Emily Jane Zelt, has a tumor on her spine. We found out today. We’re awaiting the call about next steps, but in the meantime, here’s a photo of us in 2006 on her first Gotcha Day.

My conversation with
@Georgetown
students tonight was everything I needed after this last week in politics. We have all political affiliations in our group, and we had a productive, cordial, honest and kind conversation. It CAN happen. Thank you
@GUPolitics
for this opportunity.
Just finished

’s The Great Revolt. Everyone 👏🏼 in 👏🏼 the 👏🏼 Beltway 👏🏼 needs 👏🏼 to 👏🏼 read 👏🏼 this 👏🏼 book👏🏼.
(Everyone elsewhere should also read it but I have a hunch they get it more than the Beltway crowd).
Well done, sister!
If
#KateSpade
did indeed take her own life, it is yet another reminder that we need to have an honest conversation in our country about mental health. Mental health conditions are just like any other health issue, and we need to end the stigma.

’s funeral today reminded me of everything our republic should be. Many feelings to process. But I was so proud to see my former boss
@KellyAyotte
involved in the service today and loved
@JoeLieberman
’s eulogy. He’s a person I’m honored to work with now.
I overcame a massive anxiety attack today. I am. So. Proud. Of. Myself. And yes, I deal with that. Admitting it makes me stronger, not weaker. Good day today.
