I’m thrilled to share the news that I’ll be joining Bloomberg soon as an editor on the markets team! I am so excited and happy to become part of the Bloomberg newsroom and can’t wait to start this next chapter of my career 🤩
RIP Captain LaCapra. He went peacefully to rest today around 3 pm at 122.5 years old in human years with me, Pops LaCapra and siblings by his side. I loved him more than anyone and will miss him more than anything, but it was his time. 💔
In less than a year, I’ve changed careers, started a relationship with the love of my life, moved back to civilization with him and lost Captain. In Sept. 2021 I could not have imagined this would be my life, but apart from Captain I’m extremely happy and it feels very weird.
Cathy Panagoulias told me to leave WSJ because they’d never have an infographics / data person become a “real journalist,” even though I had plenty of bylines. I left & accomplished more than I probably ever would have if I’d stayed. Great career advice. RIP.
Guys, I saw Jeff Goldblum tonight. He signed my CVS receipt, engaged in goofy jokes with us and oversaw a great musical performance. 17/10, would absolutely do again.
I did a crazy thing during Lent where I worked out 5 days a week & stopped eating pizza. I walked almost 100 miles during that time, went to the gym >3 days a week and didn’t even go into a pizza place. I’m not sure what any of that means except I’m proud of myself 💪🏼
Found a great place in our ideal neighborhood we can move into late-summer if everything goes right. It sounds too good to be true in that it’s centrally located, affordable, rent-stabilized and dog-friendly. Please cross your fingers for us! ✨✨✨

Major congrats to
@talkingbiznews
on his book launch tonight!! Chris has been a steward for many in the financial-journalism profession. Therefore, he is the only person who should be writing this book, which you should buy:
I wonder if….hmm I wonder. Just hear me out - probably stupid - but I wonder if maybe we need….more of this space to live in and less of this space to work in?
Good morning & happy Monday to everyone except the medical-industrial complex, which requires me to prove once a quarter that I am, in fact, still diabetic; once a year that I do, in fact, need that particular insulin; and charges me hundreds of dollars per month for it anyway.
My guy is running for office at his local. Tomorrow is the election. After months of planning & prep, I’m so excited for him & optimistic about the outcome. Say a lil prayer or cast a lil spell or send a lil good vibes our way if you can ✨
It was Duney’s 4th birthday yesterday. We celebrated the way he deserves: a serenade from his parents, a festive biscuit and dog cannoli to share with his siblings.
This story can be framed so differently in that that people can use their money for things they actually want to do wherever they are instead of expensive commuter passes and overpriced food/drink spots in Midtown ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It took 29 months, hoards of correspondence, 2 trips to Worth Street, several visits to USPS for mail they sent without tracking & about $300 in fees, but
@nycHealthy
finally agreed to remove a space they mistakenly entered into my last name on my birth certificate. Thanks guys!
Excuse me, but no one is in Long Island, they are on Long Island and if all of you who aren’t from here don’t stop saying it that way, we’re putting up a bridge where the toll is saying it the correct way and you won’t be invited to Thanksgiving anymore. Thank you.
Someone signed me up for a jobs alert that keeps sending me open positions for dockworkers and I’m both surprised and honored that anyone thinks I could be a dockworker.
I started watching “Ghost” again last night, and can you imagine having 1990 Patrick Swayze’s ghost follow you around to protect you from evildoers? Sign me up, please.

Reinstate the train that easily brought people from Rockaway in queens to midtown. Stop treating your beach communities like transportation deserts as a Moses legacy, and get people from the city to the beach in a reasonable amount of time.
