IT pro, eye-roller, smiler, laugher, BS caller-outer.
Been there, done that.
I like to serve.
Jesus, Church, Top Gear, Harry P, Tolstoy, Dickens, cynicism.
@Manhattva
Y'all, I was unkind to Mormon missionaries and Mormons in TX and UT, at various times in my life. If any of you served missions there, know that I am now an active tithing Mormon, 5 kids and husband, and you might have planted the seed. Joke's on me!
@TempoWrites
I read your thread. This isn't the own you think. You are like hundreds like you that they meet. They were enjoying engaging with you. But I have found that people who act like you to missionaries of all types and people hoping to spread goodness and love...are simply jerks.
@deb_fillman
@DisneyStudios
I saw Empire Strikes Back 52 times in the theater. Star Wars 12 times...in the theater. l I've seen the original trilogy hundreds of times.
However, I've only seen some of the new movies once, because they are crap.
I've moved on. BTW I don't need a masculine lead woman.
@BeccaLizz
It is odd that men can get boob jobs and lipo and gender affirming care covered by insurance to be "women", yet real women can't get gender affirming care to keep their women parts affirmed. The woman of courage is now a man with plastic surgery, while real women suffer.
@reneehwilliams
One of the reasons I joined the church. I knew that this wasn't true. I knew it from a very young age but hadn't found a church that didn't believe it, until the missionaries explained it.
@midwesterneur
During the last recession, it was easier to find work if you were illegal than if you were a citizen or had a green card, around here. No one wanted to pay minimum wage or employment taxes. Cash under the table only.
@xxclusionary
New the homeless thing ain't he? Having cooked for the homeless, one night a woman took me aside and said they we needed to serve less meat like steak because a lot of them don't have teeth or have failing teeth. Soft foods like potatoes and eggs would be better.
@FixingEducation
For real, folks, if you have a degree of any kind, OR in some states, SOME college, you can be a teacher, not an aide, a real teacher, and experience abuse and disrespect for near minimum wage.
You do get 20 minutes for lunch though, and currently Christmas break off.
@espiers
@DingleBerzz
Well, it did. Women are not happier today. They've replaced the husband that works hard for for their happiness, with a deadbeat gov't handout. Women are more alone, poor, and unhappy than ever, their value has been diminished by feminism, women like you, and now the trans cult.
@BlakeBlakebabee
The same demographic that screams against hormones in cow milk is promoting hormone induced excretions from men. Are there no human scientists with integrity at the CDC anymore.
There have to be some. Why are they quiet.
@extradeadjcb
Do childless people know the feeling of sleeping in and drinking Teccino in silence, being able to lounge in the luxurious vacation spa after a day exploring a resort, when your spouse says out loud what you've been thinking?
"I really miss our kids!"
@Called_to_Share
It's odd that people think it's shocking for a man to marry and commit to providing for multiple wives w/kids, yet see no issue with men having multiple women outside of marriage and having government provide for the kids.
Sensibilities=whack
@C_Mormonus
My son dislikes his mission. Every phone call I think he is going to come home early. It is not for him. But, he has a deep testimony, and sense of duty. He only has a few more months and it looks like he's going to muscle through.
@MetaPrime001
My conservative husband converted me, a lefty lib. But, it only worked because he was way smarter and more factually informed, than I. He would ask "why do you believe that?" then use facts to tell me why he disagreed.
He also had the bluest eyes and was smokin' hot.
@MarmotRespecter
Can you imagine the upheaval if you took away the tailgating and made people have to visit a restaurant with $20 beers and $15 Hot Dogs? When was the last time a stadium went bankrupt?
@FaithLikeAbish
The church has a big tent. We all belong...turds and all, good members, larpy members, tired members, fired up members. The Ship Zion is a big ship.
@LDSPioneer
I have experienced anti Mormon and anti Catholic talk from the pulpit when I would go to church with friends. I went to my Catholic friends church and there was no anti-talk. I tried to get my Mormon friends to talk bad about other churches but they never would.
@ExmoCringe
Like, which tribe of the indigenous people? Tribe A that tortured killed and enslaved B. Or B that killed C? or CD over F. These people never know what they are saying. Pundits are never history scholars.
@eyre_ann
The only way to win is to vote out the politicians behind this.
And, if the gym allows it, stop giving money to the gym, or wherever. Money is the only thing that talks.
@Manhattva
I don't think they are real. OR all the exmos are just one person.
Why do I think that?
I don't go to the church of my youth anymore. I don't think or write about it, at all. I didn't ask to be off the rolls. I don't talk crap about it. Cuz that's what real/sane people do.
@Hollie__Pollard
@Ch_JesusChrist
Everyone gets due process.
Someone has to be defense, even to negotiate a settlement. There is literally no settlement or solution, or even condemnation of the church, without a defense attorney and defense team. Just sayin'.
@WeAllNeedJesus1
I have a student who goes by they/them she corrects me. I haven't yet told her that I won't lie to her. But I'm sure it's coming. You can tell that her mother has pushed her into it.
@ExmoCringe
When I lived in SLC, I'd hear all sorts of stories about the Mormons and the magical things they could make others do, by simply existing. They can make people drink, do drugs, steal cars, turn tricks, abuse spouses, make poor business decisions, etc. That's magic for sure.
@NotYourBishop
Well, yes, it's a Christian thing. BUT, God isn't going to ask you or me to kill anyone in order to further the kingdom when we can't even do our ministering or we bristle at tithing settlement. Abraham and Nephi had long standing patterns of faith and following and reliability
@JoanneMason11
I agree! Recently, we watched the Producers as a family.
And, of course we discussed it.
Then we had to warn everyone. DO NOT sing "Springtime for Hitler" at school. Your friends and teachers won't get it.
@TheFoxMatriarch
Sadly, a few days ago, 2 little girls were murdered by their father, after he went to court to get visitation weekends. Happened on one of those weekends. The mom/ex-wife thought he was going to kill her, never thought he would kill his kids.
@jonathanaplumb
I was duped by the BS of the world until I FOUND the gospel, and FELT the gospel, and started ACTING ON the gospel, and now won't ever leave.
@jaredadairbell
Ever since the 2 hour block, actual scripture learning is way down. Our up and coming young adults are woefully behind. Not everyone does CFM
@dogmaticaddict
Listen you people who drink to fit in. We still go to galas, dinners, after hours, with open bars, stay until the end with zero liquor. We have a blast! It's a based move to say NO and to not be bought with alcohol. Or, show up to super bowl party with hi-end root beer and be fun
@fandaflames
@BlakeBlakebabee
No. Mom didn't threaten to withhold love, just said she wasn't going to be part of this madness, or affirm mental illness. I wouldn't either. A mother should protect her kids from the dangerous and stupid ideologies of the world.
@buttonslives
During the birth of my last child, I hemorrhaged so badly I got 3 units of blood and a modern procedure through my arteries to stop the bleeding. In any other age they would have done a hysterectomy. I asked why they didn't with me. My Doc said, "We always try to save fertility!"
@planetJoseph
Ward I went to Sunday, was super full, they needed to open overflow, but they didn't know how to open the doors, they had never had to do it before. The only folks I know who left are those who held themselves as superior. Now their families are cratering. Addiction, cheating. 😢
@MaudMaron
@Disney
We cancelled Disney + and ...wait for it. have gone back to watching DVDs of our Disney movies we like. I made a PLEX server so we just have our own Disney vault now. Disney will never get another dime our our money. 5 kids, that's a lot of money they will never see.
@wil_da_beast630
Because Israel has the technology to know where all their bombs are. Also, I assume that the US knows where all of Israel's bombs are dropping. Every super power knows where everyone else's stuff is, especially during an active war.
@stackerco
With logic and reason, every church loses. There is no real foundation for the virgin birth, healing, angels, rebirth. None of it! Scientifically impossible!
We can never prove its truth! We can only know it by the spirit. That makes it more real.
@mark_melbin
@jordanbpeterson
No, they are verifying books are age appropriate for a public school. Books are still available in the libraries and book stores. No reason to have elementary or middle school kids read porn unless the schools are grooming. We don't want that, right?
@bobdaduck
I know so many geeky, balding men married to women who look like supermodels. Their women adore them because they are godly men, reliable men, honest men, sober men, who are committed to family and community. It's a phenomenon I noticed a lot in Utah. Build it and she will come.
@jaredadairbell
One of the many understandings in our house is that "there is no expectation of privacy in our house, from the parents." At our discretion we can open any door, drawer, backpack, or search history.
A family isn't a democracy.
@slc_saint
It's time to save the Palestinian people from Hamas. It's time to eradicate Hamas (even if that means prison) and give the Palestinians a decent proxy government. It's like taking kids from abusive and neglectful parents and giving them a safe parent, even if it's foster.
@theDRAMAgoat1
Large city high schools filled with wealthy African and Middle Eastern immigrants also do not like going to failing liberal schools run by bad teachers. You obviously don't have kids in a large city school with a diverse population.
@InezFeltscher
His divorce was 20 years ago. He's driving traffic to her channel. He's in on this. She's in on this. She is not traumatized. This will be a new schtick; just watch.
@InqstvMuse
I had a similar experiences. They called a bishop that I thought was a real🤪 and did not respect the man. During WC meetings, I assumed I knew how he would dictate matters. Over and over he showed that he truly held the keys and wore the mantle and had insight I didn't have.
@jefe_tweets
@Femail
Abosolutely. It's easy to get caught up with it and have to make your choice. Most of Studio C, David A, etc. Fame and money force your faith one way or the other.
I'm at a point in my life where I can't be bought. Twenty years ago, maybe.
@ada_akpala
Women genuinely compliment each other on our nails, hair, purses, shoes, lipstick color, children, if we look tired or if we look radiant. The BLM and their ilk told white women that we cannot engage with WOC in that same way because it's offensive. They ruined it for everyone.
@ExmoCringe
They obviously don't really attend Relief Society or they would have heard the endless talks on the importance of education and the push for everyone to take those 12 week classes.
Canning is NEVER the answer. (I live in a ward where everyone has a degree AND cans.)
@gopTODD
How is speaking truth not loving your neighbor?
I walked out of GD lesson after a woman went into depth about how she shows love by affirming her transgender Grandaugher/son. I can't stand talk of condoning child abuse so I left. Should I have stayed in order to show love?
@ShayDav19Leo
@BreannaMorello
FYI, Roy Moore recently won an 8 million dollar defamation lawsuit against the people who made that story up. Defamation lawsuits are difficult to win by the way.
@jefe_tweets
@Femail
It's what happens to many LDS folks when they are tempted with fame and money. They don't need the gospel anymore. $45,000 per month is her price.
Do we all have a price?
@JessupShannon
Most of the babies born in our extended family are out of wedlock. It is cheaper to have a baby for the mother to not be married. She also receives a bunch of government and charity services by way of $$$. Unless there is a religious reason, there is no motivation to get married.
@NoblestCalling
@ExmoCringe
Can I remind everyone that Democrats voted NO on requiring doctors to provide pain meds to babies in the womb, old enough to feel pain, before having their limbs cut off from their bodies? Evil.
Unrighteous baby killers (and torturers) is correct.
@DavidDOrtizCO
@_timhernandez
Yes, he needs to learn and grow... after he resigns.
He does not represent Colorado, or his constituents. He needs to go.
@New_E_Mom
It's fine to try to teach them to read early, but those other skills are critical. Background knowledge, soft skills, fine motor skills all build up to reading better.
@mrsdobbins_
This was my mom's experience, as well. Only the very poor breastfed. She thought it must be a "Mormon" thing, when I breastfed my babies. Fact is, the trend now is to breastfeed. Formula is so "out" and you will be talked about in mom groups if you use formula.
@jgoldensshadow
A friend who fancied himself a theologian a la Snuffer, was upset when he found out the Mission Prez got a cost of living stipend and how much it was. I realized that his existence must be wretched if he thought the MishPrez stipend was a lot. It would financially devastate us.
@thecopsdaughter
I want the one from the man's point of view. You know the one where he gets up early to go to work while she sleeps, then her day spending his $ shopping at Ulta, Starbucks, Target, and gets take-out for dinner, sets out her new rugs and towels, and then tells him she's too tired
@joshnaa2gez
Other Christians think man is in misery because of Adam and that we have to claw our way into his good graces, and that people who never will hear of Jesus are doomed to hell and God knew they wouldn't know Jesus so that's why he put them in Mongolia in the first place. Awful.
@C_Mormonus
Actually, she doesn't realize that protestanst, evangelicals and Catholics believe Jesus is God. We actually, ACTUALLY, believe he is the son of God. We don't have to make weird word salads, or do theological gymnastics with scripture. He IS the Son of God.
@luinalaska
They know zilch. My grandma ran the business, kept the books and handled the $ because "that's what wives do." They had credit cards even, in the20s 'cuz women were the ones who shopped. I have pics of her and her teen friends in pants and driving before WWI. She wasn't oppressed
@NotWellInZion
What I noticed as a non-M in SLC when I moved there was that SLC is not only NOT Mormon, it is hostile to Mormons. I still have a SLC magazine that I kept because it made fun of the temple and I thought it was an odd way to try to drive tourism. Is anti-Mo tourism>Mo tourism?
@joshnaa2gez
As you age and people tell the same story, even important stories, the story changes as emphasis and audience changes. I watch it happen among family, friends, politicians...
The different angles of the first vision don't bother me cuz I've been around people.
@BradRTorgersen
I haven't purchased a Best of Hugo in over a decade, and "Hugo award winner" is simply a tag to say "woke crap with no creativity".
Why can't levelheaded non-pervert scifi/fant people just start doing a Burning Man-esque Con somewhere? Maybe someplace with showers and concrete
@WoodrowForCO
Schools are failing, mental health services are gaslighting kids to take puberty blockers, tighter gun laws allow criminals to be the only ones with guns.
Good show! CO was once safe, low crime, low homelessness, and had good mental health.
@KTMartin25
No, a sexual misconduct investigation that went nowhere is not a reason for a member to be excommunicated. Plus, people go before disciplinary boards for sexual impropriety, and they create a path of repentance.
@DrTeresaSanders
Parents are putting off these skills thinking that it is up to the schools. Moms do not want to put down their phones long enough to teach these skills. I see this daily.
@MattWalshBlog
In any business the boss is often thought of as a jerk. Jerkiness is subjective. Often people who are "driven" aren't coddling and expect those around them to be "driven," as well. Employees who want a work "family" don't like it.
@vale_wanderer
@CoffeewClassics
I enjoy Atwood, but I don't call her Classic lit or even literature at all. She'll always be like Grisham or Patterson to me.
@New_E_Mom
It's a godsend! Changed my life. No amount of situps or planks were going to fix it. Not only does it fix the skin, it gives you your core muscles back. After you are done with kids, I recommend it.
@bobdaduck
Remember years ago, we were all laughing at the kids getting gender and women's studies degrees because we knew they couldn't get a job? Well, their parents created 6 figure jobs at their companies and universities for their spoiled children to continue to have a venue.
@MormonMarksman
I would love it!
It's just like when you get personally invited to a Bat/Bar mitzvah, Bris, Mehdi ceremony, ordination, etc. They want you to share in their joy.
It's fellowshipping at it's finest.
@Aristos_Revenge
Does she realize that most white people don't even know what she is referring to? "Does she not like to eat in front of people. Does her hair get in the way, is that why? She wants us to know she drinks coffee? She only ate one, did she not like it?Why did she eat the cup?"
@NoblestCalling
"I'm only going to provide enough support that he doesn't starve or go naked, while he watches his cousin eat the steak and get the college degree. I'm such a good person."
@dbonham
Yes, I love it. In fact, the temple videos with the very pale Adam and Eve actually make me a little uncomfortable. I would love it, if they mixed up the races in the videos. And, you never know what you would get every time you went to the temple.
@NoblestCalling
Well, we have sent cinnamon swirl bread once when my son was in charge of bread for the day. I didn't realize it until it was held out to me on a silver platter.
I hope it brightened everyone's day even more than the sacrament usually does.
@DanielEvensen84
@Eternal_Saints_
LOL! No way! Third party stuff is always made up. "A neighbor said that Lucy said that......"
I'll by fiction, but I don't generally waste money on third person accounts as interpreted by the modern cynic. I wouldn't do it for other religions, as well. That's not scholarship.
@slc_saint
Historians say this came from the Spanish conquerors, but I think some geneticists say that the DNA trail is older than that. Clusters of Native As carry the BRCA1/2 gene found in Ashkenazi Jews. Historians say it's Spanish invaders, yet gene folks say the trail is older.
@Grownded
I want details also. I can tell you from experience that an RS presidents Stake YM president has as much power as they are willing to wield, if they are spirit driven and wise.
She needs to look inward. If she isn't wielding the power she wants.
