On Sunday April 7th, Kitsap Sheriff's Deputy Josh Buonvino was off duty when he spotted an Amber Alert for a missing child.
This body camera video below shows how the off-duty Deputy Buonvino took the initiative to search for the suspect, safely recovering the child.

this weekend. Poulsbo PD spotted a stolen U-Haul, and KCSO deputies tracked it to Silverdale where Odin sniffed out 2 suspects who surrendered. Odin was awarded the prestigious peanut butter dog biscuit doughnut.
UPDATE 1201 hrs: Due to a combined coordinated effort os WSP, Port Orchard Police and KCSO we have a suspect in custody!! BPD & KCSO K-9 were able to track the suspect for several hours through woods and swamp to safely take a suspect into custody. See more at KCSO FB. ~11
Here's an unusual call. Dispatched as a hit and run involving a pedestrian, a deputy finds out the victim of the hit and run was loading stolen merchandise onto his bike when he was hit by a vehicle. When asked about the stolen items he replied, “I guess that’s karma.”
Search for missing JV concluded. Matthew Pierce, the 11-year-old South Kitsap youngster reported missing earlier, was found by searchers hiding in bushes in the 400 block of Goldenrod Street in Port Orchard. He was found around 10:50 p.m., uninjured, and reunited with family.
After several tips from the community, KCSO Detectives arrested a 15 year old juvenile at home regarding the fire at WalMart. The suspect is enroute to Kitsap County Juvenile Detention. Thank you again to the community for your willingness to help.

Shady Glen murder suspect SHAUN D. ROSE is IN CUSTODY! We are grateful for the support of our law enforcement partners Tacoma Police Department, Pierce County Sheriff's Office and Mason County Sheriff's Office.
UPDATE- Darian Savoie is in custody. He was spotted by citizens who recognized him from KCSO social media posts. They called 911 & Savoie was arrested by a state Fish and Wildlife officer who was assisting the search.
Calen Sloan, wanted in connection with the October 3rd murder of Brandon Egeler in Poulsbo, was taken into custody this afternoon. Sloan was arrested following pursuits by Jefferson Co. deputies, and then in north Kitsap County. A 2nd suspect, Aksel Strom, was arrested Oct. 27th.
A warning to drivers. A man is posing as a police officer in Kitsap County and pulling cars over in what may appear to be legitimate traffic stops.

Defendants Bobby Watson Johnny Watson Danie Kelly have been found guilty in the 2017 murders of Johnny and Christale Careaga, Hunter Schaap and Jonathon Higgins.

A 64-year-old Bremerton man was taken into custody following an investigation into attempted child sexual abuse and trafficking.
The man is alleged to have tried to solicit sex with a 5-year-old child while communicating in an online chat room with a detective out of state.

KCSO and Suquamish Tribal Police nabbed a man wanted on $370k in warrants while investigating a report of a vehicle stolen from Pierce County. The suspect is wanted for crime spree spanning several months.
**UPDATE** JERRY COLLINS has been found safe and uninjured. BIG THANK YOU to the men and women of Kitsap County's Explorer Search and Rescue team who came out and searched for JERRY. And a big GOOD GIRL to K9 Sahale and her handler TOM HENNING who found JERRY.

A Kitsap County man wanted on a $1 million warrant is now in custody. Joshua Susee is believed to have taken his four children, 2 age 10, a 6-yr.-old and 3-yr.-old earlier this year. He was arrested in Ensenada, Mexico. The children have returned to Washington State and are safe.
On Friday night, KCSO & Port Orchard PD teamed up to target shoplifters hitting retail businesses.
5 instances of shoplifting were detected, 3 people arrested. Several ran from law enforcement & escaped. One ran leaving a cart full of groceries worth more than $600.
Thanks to your tips the man wanted in connection with a hold-up at the Navy Federal Credit Union at 3340 NW Randall Way, Silverdale on Wednesday, March 27th is now in custody.

The suspect in Wednesday's robbery of a Bremerton Bank of America is now in custody. He was arrested this afternoon by KCSO detectives with the assistance of Bremerton and Port Orchard police.

Two girls, ages 11 & 10, reported missing from the central Kitsap area have been found and both are safe.

On Wednesday, a tractor-trailer hauling a 50k lb. load lost its breaks headed down E. Main in Manchester. The driver of the out-of-control truck decided his safest course of action was to aim for the boat ramp, where he ended up underwater. The driver was able to escape safely.
UPDATE on sexual assault suspect: Anthony Marsalis Moffett, 29, wanted on an outstanding warrant for rape, 2nd degree, made the correct decision. Around 3:30 p.m. Mr. Moffett walked into Kitsap County Jail reception and voluntarily surrendered. Best ending possible.

Detectives served a warrant Wednesday on NE Port Gamble Rd. in Poulsbo.
This was part of a significant investigation into a series of residential & commercial burglaries.
21 victims were identified & $100k+ in stolen property recovered after 2 warrants were served this month.
KCSO deputies helped Bremerton PD pursue and arrest a drive-by shooting suspect. Spikes were used to flatten the van's tires during the pursuit. The driver dumped the van and tried to escape by swimming from Tracyton Beach when WSP plane spotted him, and he was arrested.
Sheriff John Gese and all of us at the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office wish to express our condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues at the Washington State Patrol following the line-of-duty death of a state trooper early this morning.
One of two men wanted in a North Kitsap County homicide is in custody. Aksel Strom was arrested Friday in Pacific County. Pacific County Sheriff's deputies pursued Strom twice before arresting him. He is now in the Kitsap County Jail.

A suspect is custody after a man was robbed at gunpoint outside a Silverdale bank.
The victim says he had gotten money from an ATM when the suspect held a gun to his head demanding cash. The suspect was arrested a short time later. A gun and money were found inside a stolen car.
Mr. Scott Lee Anderson, 58, is alive! Reported missing Aug. 17, an investigation and search has been on-going. Anderson was found at approx. 12:45 p.m. in the garage of his house. He is undergoing medical evaluation. Detectives continue the investigation.

UPDATE: A 1930 Ford Model A Huckster stolen from a Poulsbo garage has been recovered, after an anonymous 911 call led KCSO deputies to the vehicle.
A boat and trailer also reported stolen has not been recovered. An investigation into the thefts is ongoing.

Kitsap County Sheriff's Deputy Steve Martin spotted an injured duck in the roadway on Sunday. He carefully captured the bird, who was then taken to the West Sound Wildlife Animal Shelter for treatment.

Burglary suspect Gary Moyer is now in custody in Oregon. Moyer is wanted on a $1m warrant in Kitsap County.
His arrest follows a raid by Gig Harbor PD in Port Orchard earlier today.
Moyer will be extradited to WA after facing charges in Oregon.

A man armed with a knife held deputies at bay for nearly an hour as he sat in his car outside the Central Kitsap Regional Library in Silverdale around 9 AM. Finally, a deputy was able to reach in & grab the knife ending the standoff. No one was injured.

A woman suspected in a burglary at an Olalla Post Office that led to at least 5 home burglaries is now in custody. She is suspected of stealing a list of homes with mail-hold requests, and breaking into the homes while residents were out of town.
A man led KCSO deputies on a 5-1/2-mile pursuit before he was arrested on charges of DUI, Felony Elude, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Resisting Arrest, and warrants from Pierce County.
A search found a 10mm semi-automatic handgun and several dozen fentanyl pills.
Sheriff John Gese joined KCSO deputies, members of the community & local law enforcement agencies in a candlelight vigil in honor of Tyre Nichols in Bremerton last night.
Deputies responding to a car crashed into a tree in Bremerton last night ended up subduing the driver, after he allegedly attempted to punch a firefighter then kicked a deputy.
A less than lethal option was used to subdue the driver. He was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
