Yesterday, someone broke into a car and stole a young girl's backpack which contained her Valentine's Day cards and gifts. A few of our officers pooled together and bought her a new backpack, candy and gifts. Officer Daniel delivered them to her at school today. #GigHarbor

UPDATE REGARDING THIS MORNING'S PURSUIT The Pierce County Sheriff's Department advises that the second subject who had been detained earlier is in fact the second person involved in the pursuit this morning. Both have been booked into jail. There are no outstanding suspects.

BEWARE: We had a citizen scammed by a caller pretending to be a GHPD Officer. The phone number was “spoofed,” indicating it was us calling. Suspect demanded victim purchase gift cards and provide number over phone for payment of fines. Police will never call and demand money.
