Life update: I’m thankful for the opportunity to continue to serve the community after being appointed to the Jackson County Government’s Plan Commission!
As a county commissioner, I’m excited to represent my hometown and advocate for Eastern Jack and beyond—Let’s get to work!
@morgonnm
Hi, chair of the commission who helped craft this policy in Kansas City.
First, these are single stall, all gender bathrooms that allow for greater privacy. There are gender specific bathrooms down the hall too.
Finally, don’t use my community to create fake outrage—it’s sad.
Let me be very clear—inclusive policy benefits all of us.
Fathers with daughters, mothers with sons, folks with disabilities, those traveling with elderly loved ones, and LGBTQ+ folks—single stall, all gender bathrooms create a space that meets folks where they’re at.
By a vote of 5-0, the City of Lawrence, Kansas is now a sanctuary city for LGBTQ+ folks in response to the state’s passage of anti-LGBTQ+ laws!
A huge shout-out and thank you to the folks on the ground who helped make this happen. I felt a little under the weather after today,
I don’t care if it’s legal or folks feel embolden right now, if I hear about ANY business refusing to serve a member of the LGBTQ+ community here in Kansas City—I will do everything I can to mobilize the community around that. We will boycott and ensure you get zero business.
Today I learned that my campaign banner was defaced with a homophobic slur here in Kansas City.
I’ll admit, this one hurt because like so many us of who experience this, this word is used to harm us. Either way, I’m not going to back down and I’m going to hold my head high.

Hi, chair of the commission who helped craft this policy in Kansas City.
These are single stall, all gender bathrooms that allow for greater privacy.
To make you also aware: The bathroom on the plane AND the bathroom at your home are single stall, all gender bathrooms as well.
I do not and will not regret posting this because I’m young, single, and gay—but even the folks on Grindr are wishing me well on becoming Chair of the LGBTQ Commission. Thanks kings. ✨😌🤣
I don’t know if y’all knew this, but I grew up Mormon. My parents were really strict while I was growing up about this, but I have some good news. Both my parents have left the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to support me, their gay son. (1/2)
The policy we crafted has nothing to do with my sexuality—it had everything to do with ensuring our spaces where open and accessible to folks who visit our great city. Folks see right through this charade you’re trying to make this out to be—grow up and move on. You’re a joke.
Today, Grain Valley, MO teachers were instructed to take “Safe Space” stickers off of their classroom doors.
In 2011, I tried taking my own life because I was bullied for being gay while attending Grain Valley South Middle School. My parents moved me out of the district. (1/2)
Harrison Butker doesn’t represent Kansas City nor has he ever. Kansas City has always been a place that welcomes, affirms, and embraces our LGBTQ+ community members. 🌈
I guess every person that’s used a bathroom on a plane, a porter potty, and/or their bathroom at home is “a creep or a freak,” because those are all single stall, all gender bathrooms too.
Personally, I wouldn’t want anyone else navigating this crisis and holding the big airline industry accountable like U.S. Transportation Secretary, Pete Buttigieg. My heart goes out to all those impacted by this disaster—and I do hope everyone gets home safely.
Here’s a picture of Republican Missouri State Senator, Nick Schroer in drag.
I’m starting to see a pattern—the politicians that are the most outspoken about banning drag, have photos that later surface of them in drag. There’s a whole lot of projection going on from their side.
I am speechless. The Missouri Governor is thinking of issuing a pardon to the KCPD Officer who killed Cameron Lamb—a Black man who was murdered in his car by KCPD Officer, Eric DeValkenaere.
The justice system ran its course and Officer DeValkenaere was found guilty in

@morgonnm
That makes me happy!
I am also extremely concerned that this individual used her phone to record a video while being in a city bathroom meant for greater privacy. It’s a clear violation of privacy for those using the facilities during the taking of this recording.
It hasn’t even been 24 hours after a shooting in our community here in Kansas City—and a current Missouri State Senator and candidate for Missouri Governor tweets this. ⬇️
On behalf of all Kansas Citians, go to hell.
When organizations cave like this it shows all of us that it was never about standing with LGBTQ+ people, it was always about making a profit.
If you’re not going to stand with our community on the bad days, please don’t stand with us on the good days.
Inclusive spaces benefit everyone. The Kansas City International Airport’s all gender, single stall facilities benefit everyone. They’re just like the bathroom at your home, on the plane, and a porta potty—a single stall, all gender bathroom.
I definitely don’t live my life today for their acceptance (they accept me), but for them to leave the church means a lot to younger me. I didn’t have an easy coming out because of their Mormon beliefs.
It’s just crazy how people can grow and change for someone they love. (2/2)
Today’s move is taking what little visibility LGBTQ+ students may. This may seem small to some, but to queer students who may feel like they don’t have a place, this means the world. This may save a kid from making a similar decision like I did because we didn’t have these. (2/2)
I’ll be honest, I’m extremely worried about the anti-Trans movement finding a home in the LGBTQ+ community.
I’m outspoken about this because gay men and women with privilege feel that the fight is over—and it’s not. We aren’t leaving anyone behind and this fight is far from
For the first time in Kansas City, our airport terminal is lit to commemorate Pride Month in the City of Kansas City! 🌈
This is huge for visibility, but more importantly this airport is a national model for inclusion with its all-gender facilities!
In partnership with our community partners and the city, I’m proud to share that four more progress pride flag crosswalks will be installed in Kansas City in the coming weeks! 🌈
We’re thankful to Sherwin Williams for their hefty donation. We’ll share crosswalk locations closer
HISTORY: In a move to defy the state, the Kansas City Council just pass a resolution making Kansas City a sanctuary city for gender-affirming healthcare!
In an 11-1 vote, Kansas City sent a strong signal of which side we’re on in the fight for human rights.
With Kansas City’s pride festival and parade happening June 9-11, I’m proud to share that the Kansas City skyline will be lit in the colors of the pride flag on the nights of June 9th and 10th! 🌈
A huge thanks to our city’s LGBTQ+ Liason and downtown partners for helping make
I love our community, but it’s disheartening hearing LGBTQ+ folks text, call, or tell me in private that we need to basically abandon the fight for Trans folks—we can’t do that.
Our Trans community needs allies on the good and bad days—and we as a community should all be there.
Many people are being blocked because I’m not allowing bigger accounts to use my tweets (retweet with their comments) to create fake scenarios that whip up their followers and continue to spread ugliness.
Some are using fake scenarios to create fear and division. All gender,
This is how you do it. 🌈
When things get tough, you double down and reaffirm your commitment to the LGBTQ+ community. That’s all we ask of our allies during tough times.
After all this craziness is over and Trans folks will get to live in peace, history will look back on what was done.
A lot of people tell me they’d be marching next to MLK if they grew up during the civil rights movement. Folks, there’s a civil rights fight going on right now.
This guy can’t stop talking about me—and if your going to, get my titles right! It’s chair of the LGBTQ Commission and fmr. board director of the county ‘s children’s services fund. I remain the highest ranking member of Gen Z in KC, and it’s funny this kid ruffles your feathers!
This Tuesday, July 5th at 9 AM, I plan to have a press conference at the sight of the defaced banner at 4644 Campbell St. Kansas City, MO 64110 to address any concerns or questions.
I invite the community, especially LGBTQ+ folks to come out and stand with me against this hate.
Honestly, none of these things are bad…
✅ Compared to Obama
✅ Activist: A proud one
✅ LGBTQ Commissioner: Proud to serve
✅ Bathroom designer: A slay
✅ My ethnicity: My dad is actually Black and Indigenous and my mom is White and Tongan.
I’m proud of all these things!

Hi, Chair of the Commission that helped create this policy.
These are single stall, all gender bathrooms that are created for greater privacy. Just like the bathroom at your home, a porter potty, and the bathroom on the plane—it’s a single stall, all gender bathroom.
Let me be very clear, any person or persons that harm members of the Kansas City LGBTQ+ community will be held accountable.
My heart goes out to those at Fountain Haus and the members of our community impacted by this harm. I plan to reach out to our federal, state, and local
The Kansas City Council has just introduced a resolution making Kansas City a Sanctuary City for Trans folks receiving gender-affirming care.
With gender-affirming care still being legal in the state of Missouri, this resolution would codify those rights into city law. (1/2)
Last night, I was watching a show on state politics and they were interviewing a republican candidate for Missouri Governor. He stated if elected he would eliminate all personal property taxes in the state of Missouri. The show’s host asked what happens to funding for public
BREAKING: Jamie Johnson has won her race to the Missouri state legislature to represent District 12! This seat has been flipped from republican to democrat. She will also make history as the first Black woman elected to the state legislature from Platte County, MO.
Oh my gosh, that’s me! This really made my night. Thank you for covering this and uplifting this whole situation
@TizzyEnt
.
I’ll always defend the polices we enact because inclusion benefits all of us! ♥️
I apologize if my voice was shaky, but when they announced the vote to ban conversion therapy failed, I cried.
I cried because I knew the harm this would create. I had to get it together though because we aren’t going to rest until this is passed. (1/2)
The fact that we lit the Kansas City International Airport to commentate Pride Month will always be iconic. 🌈
It looks amazing and I loved that this happened here in our community!
Spent the majority of the day in the sweltering heat with volunteers from the community and the amazing folks from public works to install Kansas City’s next pride crosswalks! 🌈
It’s not done yet, but it’s coming together folks!
I’m a Christian—heck, I grew up Mormon and my family is Mormon. If we have Christian groups at high schools, we have to have satan clubs.
As a believer of God, one must also believe there’s a Satan. I don’t follow him, but they have that right (as do we) to practice their
Let me correct this tweet: “Kansas City’s brand new airport allows anyone, of any background to use a single stall bathroom for greater privacy.”
Just like the bathrooms at your very home AND the bathrooms on the planes, they are single stall, all gender facilities—grow up.
Lawrence, Kansas will become a sanctuary city with a unanimous vote.
In a past statement, the Douglas County Prosecutor also committed to not enforcing anti-LGBTQ+ state laws at the local level. Lawrence is a sanctuary city and anti-LGBTQ+ laws will not be enforced.
I feel like I should let my haters create my titles—I’ve been called, “Mayor of Gay City” and “General of the Skittle Squad,” and now this one! I think my new title should be, “Mob Boss of Alphabet Mafia.” 🤣
As mob boss, I did indeed call an emergency meeting to ratio Jason.
I commend Coach Staley for saying this—it takes a lot of courage doing so.
I remember taking a lot of heat myself in 2018 after saying that I believe Trans folks should be able to wrestle and compete in the NCAA—and I still believe that to this day as a former NCAA wrestler.
South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley says she believes that Trans women should be allowed to play in women's sports.
She adds that she knows that saying this is going to lead her to be bullied and harassed and she's ok with that.
I’m going to be blunt. We’ve constantly been told by folks from the Streetcar that a pride decal would cost $10,000. That’s what’s often stopped our efforts—and I believed our community needed the visibility with the legislative violence we’ve been enduring.
They then turn
Welp, I just got the call that my defaced campaign banner was ripped off and stolen ahead of our press conference today at 9 AM. I had some prepared remarks, but I’m mad as hell and I’m not backing down!
This isn’t Kansas City, and we’re going to prove whoever did this wrong!
With Kansas City’s new airport terminal about to open, one thing you won’t be seeing in it is a Chick-fil-A. 😉
In September of 2021, I was proud to lead the opposition that got Chick-fil-A booted from the original terminal plan. I’m still proud of that moment to this day. 🌈
The fact that Kansas Citians, Kansas Citians that live in our community, filled the stadium with boos during the sign of unity by the players and then proceed to doing the Tomahawk chop - I’m done. I’m going home. Words cannot describe how disappointed I am in this city.
To the folks who believe they would’ve marched for civil rights if they grew up during that time, we’re seeing a fight for civil rights happen before our very eyes TODAY.
History will remember those who stood up for Trans lives and those who looked the other way and did nothing.
One of the most surreal videos of the entire resistance to anti-trans laws this year.
Members of the gallery get arrested while shouting "trans lives matter" as Rep. Stevenson delivers a scathing rebuke on the House Floor.
"Somebody will have to atone!"
Hey Twitter! I’m a young progressive running for office in KC for the Jackson County Legislature! I intend to be a voice for the historically marginalized communities in the 1st District and across the County. I need your support to get there! Please retweet and donate!⤵️
I talked to a local historian because I’m always curious about this stuff, but as Chair of the Kansas City LGBTQ Commission and Board Director of the Jackson County Children’s Services Fund—I’m the highest ranking member of Gen Z in local government in the Kansas City metro (1/3)
In June of last year, we commentated Pride Month by lighting our airport terminal in the colors of the pride flag for the first time! 🌈
This was huge for visibility—but more importantly this airport is a national model for inclusion with its all gender, single stall bathrooms.
Teachers are amazing. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

! Let’s show our love and support for them! 💓
Facts matter—especially when the disinformation created can create fake outrage around an uncontroversial policy like this one.
I’m proud to see this tweet now include a Community Note with my wording that single stall, all gender bathrooms allow for greater privacy!l.
BREAKING: The U.S. Supreme Court rules the Biden administration overstepped its authority in trying to cancel or reduce student loan debt, effectively killing the $400 billion plan. Millions of Americans are expected to resume payments by late summer.
@AutumHood
Thank you

Never thought I’d have to share this but these actions have really consequences. I thank you for being loving and welcoming as my freshman year teacher when I did transfer to Blue Springs School District. You’re why I am who I am today too. 💓
I’m sorry, but I’m going to say it—our priority in Kansas City shouldn’t be a downtown baseball stadium that uses billions of tax dollars, but crime prevention and gun violence.
IMAGINE if we used those tax dollars to prevent crime in Kansas City, but yeah, let’s talk baseball.
BREAKING: Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City is suing Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey over an investigation his office opened last month into gender-affirming care.
BREAKING: After a judge granted a restraining order temporarily blocking the implementation of the Emergency Order banning gender-affirming care in Missouri until May 1, that same judge has ruled in favor of another restraining order blocking the emergency order until May 15.
It may not mean a whole lot to some, but for those have long been excluded—this means the world.
One of the hardest things to get done that we accomplished was getting all gender bathrooms at all city facilities in Kansas City—they all also have personal hygiene products.
During times of struggle and controversy, that’s when we need our allies to step up the most. We can’t let hate continue to win in instances like this—we need folks to stand by pillars of the LGBTQ+ community like the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. (1/2)
In a perfect world, one’s actions would only be their own and not reflective of the entire LGBTQ+ community—but we don’t live in a perfect world.
This will likely give our oppressors another tool to target us, especially LGBTQ+ folks in public service or those wanting to serve.
Me and the boyfriend just got out of Easter church service—from my loved ones to yours, Happy Easter!
I hope everyone enjoys this day surrounded by friends, family, and plenty of sweet treats—God bless all of you.
