As a developer I am thankful for our passionate fans. Keep telling us about what you like and don’t like. We can only promise you that we will try our best to get it right next time. (4/4)
Assets for the K/DA All Out Event moments. These were illustrated based off of real life photos of actresses posing on sets. We've came a long way since creating the event back in 2020. (1/2)
Next up, Noxian Brotherhood. The comic art and story were done before I took on Events. So we had to come up with a way to incorporate them into the event design. I love how short and sweet the story is. I've attached the script as image descriptions. (1-4 of 13)
Game developers are humans, and humans make mistakes. When I worked as a Release Manager on LoL, I accidentally shut down the Brazil server an hour before the scheduled time and force started the patch maintenance early. I still think about it some days when I can’t sleep. 😬😨
Some of you asked how come we have so few WR devs active on social? Well, personally I wouldn't even recommend it to my colleagues. Why? Here is my experience.
So this WR patch seems rough. I have been experiencing frustrating performance issues including lag, framerate drops, phone heating up, etc. However, please be patient with us. Send a player support ticket in and that’s always the best way to report issues to us! Thank you!! 💕🙏
Memes aside, please stop asking me to sue other companies for copying our ideas. That’s not my job. My job is to create stuffs that are awesome enough and worth copying.
Before
#wildrift
events are designed with beautiful visuals, we often mock the event using images closest to our imaginations. This was the master piece for Hextech Heist. Oh and yes, I also had some fun with the internal name.
YEEEESSSS IT'S HAPPENING!!! We have been working super hard on these 2 WR events for
#RiotXArcane
(Arcane Experience and Hextech Heist)! We've prepared a brand new event design and a ton of cool rewards. I am nervously hoping that you will like them!
The making of the Yordle Expedition event was challenging, but it's undeniable the incredible hard work so many teams put in to make this event a reality. Whether you joined us on the journey across Runeterra or not, here are some assets from the event.
I understand why frustrated players say “devs don’t care”. Sometimes I catch myself thinking “players don’t care about us” when I read mean feedback. At the end of the day, we should treat each other with respect and not assume ill intent. We do care and are doing our best. 💕
I said I am bringing Chip to Wild Rift one way or another.
@PlayRuneterra
Me: Can you help me make a super cute 2D map for Yuumi's Adventure that's kinda like a RPG board but fill it with cute critters like Chip? 🥺🙏
@mpulsestudios
: Hold my beer..😅👌
The result:
We introduced this new feature called event countdown. The purpose is to tease upcoming feature events and to build excitement. This idea came from many of you asking for ways to anticipate upcoming events so I hope you like this feature. And pls keep giving us suggestions!!! 🙏
Feeling so emotional seeing this announcement.. I think this goes without saying that big events take a lot effort to develop but this one in particular means so much sweat, tears and sleepless nights. I really hope we can live up to the expectations.
Work is gonna get crazy busy for me starting tomorrow. But today, I am dressing up and going to BBQ. Thinking about all the WR players and wishing you good luck and have fun! 🤗
It’s difficult for me to approach the subject of Riot’s storytelling right now. Since I can only speak for Wild Rift events, I will say that I have learned a ton from the Sentinels event and will do better in the future. And that I appreciate our passionate lore lovers!!
Last few weeks have been really tiresome work-wise, and I even contemplated quitting. Then seeing people tweeted at me calling me a "fucking lazy dev" while I worked throughout the holiday break was heartbreaking and made me question is this worth doing?
To those who reached out and said kind things to me, and those who apologized for the acts of others even though you don't owe me anything, thank you for making me feel hopeful about our community. 😭
One day I will run out of ideas for new events and have to go look for a new job. But today is not that day because I got 4 new events we are excited about and will be designing them soon!
Oh boy... here comes my usual🌶️take:
I can't disagree with this one more. Whenever a game disrupts the industry and delights players beyond expectations, it absolutely raise industry and genre standards regardless of the why and how. (1/4)
Xalavier Nelson Jr. @ Toronto Games Week/XP Summit
Like a lot of people, I'm deeply excited about what the lovely folks at Larian accomplished with Baldur's Gate 3, but I want to gently, pre-emptively push back against players taking that excitement and using it to apply criticism or a "raised standard" to RPGs going forward

I want to color my hair in the next few weeks. Currently thinking of going icy blonde🧊, or soft pink 🎀, or strawberry blonde🍓... help me choose, Twitter!
Wishing you and your family a joyful, healthy and peaceful year of the Tiger. Hope you achieve all your goals this year. 新年快乐! Chúc Mừng Năm Mới! 新年快樂! Selamat Tahun Baru! Maligayang Bagong Taon! 새해 복 많이 받으십시오!
Not gonna lie, we got some HILARIOUS answers when we asked
@wildrift
devs to name this champion based on the silhouette. Good luck and tell us your best guesses!
After every patch announcement, people who are unhappy about something will target the few social-media-active devs to harass regardless if we work on the problems or not. As someone who read every single posts and mentions @ me, it takes a huge toll.
Exciting WR news today and I am eager to check out new features that the team has been working hard on! Don't forget, patch preview doesn't include everything in a patch. This means we have more events planned for you than what was shown. See you on the rift!
Lunar Beast was really special. We had a lot of momentum from shipping K/DA and Yordle Expedition and wanted to prove we can keep raising the bar on event designs. We wanted to capture the modern aesthetics and bring the Lunar Ox Headquarter to life.
I am not trying to play the victim here, because at the end of the day, I chose to do this and I do still love talking to and hearing from players on social. It is one of the ways I stay in touch with our players and it helps me build better products.
So did you guess the right answer? Honestly I was so impressed with some of your drawings and the team had a blast seeing all your creations (blessed and cursed ones). Tell us if you want more of this event in the future and should we go harder?
This dinosaur has evolved into a manager!! To invest in people and help them grow their careers is so rewarding. I thank my seniors for believing in me and giving me the opportunity and I will work even harder. Oh, I am still leading the Events team so no changes there!🥰
Last few months have been difficult between losing my mom, leaving Riot, to dealing with physical and mental health problems from years of burn out. But I am doing much better now after a much needed break. Healing takes time, please take care of yourself, too. ❤️
Playing

while getting my hair colored. Had to get up and go get my hair rinsed mid game, so I held my phone up the whole time and won the game. If this isn’t peak gaming performance I don’t know what is. 💪
It takes a long time to make our events. So we work on many events across multiple future patches all at once. Right now we are finishing up with events that are shipping towards end of year while designing new events for early-mid 2022. It's a big operation for a small team.😊
Hi! We fixed an issue where some iOS players were unable to see events. Please download the latest patch from the App Store to get the fix! Sorry for the inconvenience; we'll be extending the K/DA ALL OUT event by a week.
Every time I get asked to release a certain champ or skin, I will go talk to the POs on those products to delay their releases by a few months. You’ve been warned! 😛
Being the instant noodle addict I am, I am ashamed it took me so long to try Indomie Mi Goreng. I made it during lunch today and added a fried egg on top and it was really good! I give it 4/5!
For the record, we heavily collaborated with the narrative team on the Wild Rift Sentinels event content. We knew we needed their help in order to put together a more condensed but still compelling story for our players. We couldn’t have pulled this off without them.
The ruination has caused a small hiccup for some Android players. We have fixed the issue so you should be able to see the
#SentinelsofLight
event now. Please reply if you are still having trouble.
Ok so post event fun fact... 314 players completed the Sentinel HQ (level 30) on the FIRST DAY of Patch 2.4. And 192 of them even completed the bonus levels on all sentinels! That's so impressive but also kinda insane?? Tell me if you think we made it too easy?
Youtube I like to binge watch after a long day:
1. Pet grooming 🐶
2. Horse shoeing 🐴
3. Working in a Korean cafe ☕️
4. Update reasons on why WR is dying!! 💀
If for whatever reason you don't like an event, the best way to tell us is to not engage with it. Events are there to enhance your experience. We make them for all different types of players globally, and while they may not resonate with every player, we think it's worth doing!
I am seeing tweets @ me about server stability/login issue after the new patch. Please reach out to player support because I am the least capable person to fix service problems, trust.
Finished working on the narrative of a future event and I cried some happy tears because it's so wholesome.😭Now we just have to finish building this so yall can see it!
Did you know Wild Rift has multiple initiatives of teams working on different aspects of the game. Just because a social feature is being released next patch it doesn’t mean other teams aren’t working hard on other problems and opportunities. Please be patient with us.
1. Remember the first WR announcement? I was the one walking through the street playing WR! I flew across the world to film this in 100 degree weather wearing a raincoat! It was miserable but I am proud to say even thought Michael was the face of WR, I was the hands of WR!
I had so much fun working on the rewards with
@mpulsestudios
and her team. It was challenging to come up with ideas that represent Brand and Nunu but her team team did a great job. Let me know if you are interested to hear behind-the-scene process on how we design event rewards.
Now that the Pool Party event is over, let's talk about behind the scenes. We didn't plan for PP event to happen; most of our events are planned around champion releases and between Broken Blades and Sentinels of Light, we had a busy dev cycle. Our capabilities were pushed (1/5)
We decided to extend the Project event by 2 days in order to compensate for the live issue some players experienced earlier this week. Please note that the shown time on featured page is outdated, but the time shown on actual event UI is the accurate one so please double check!
How come I often ignore @ that are not about events? Even though devs do work and talk with each other but I don’t want to encourage people to send me non-event related feedback/bugs. That’s not what this Twitter is for so please contact player support instead! 🙏 & ❤️
🎶Cause you’re hot then you’re cold🎶
Hey, we heard some of you like having an event token shop so we brought it back! Go check out the Frost and Flame event and link me your clutch plays on Nunu & Brand!
So much to be thankful for on this day but I will keep it short. I thank the Wild Rift community for motivating me to be a better dev, my team leads for the trust and opportunities they’ve given me, and my friends who are closer than family for their constant love and support. 🙏
Here are some spicy thoughts on the alarming recent trends I am seeing regarding mobile game monetization. The boundaries of Pay To Win (P2W) are being pushed into new and worrying territory. (1/7)
Rested, recharged, and ready to go back to work! The Kona coffee in my system is going to power me for days. Thank you Hawaii for the delicious food, manta ray kisses, and warm hospitality. Hope to be back soon!
I’ve been gradually stepping back as an IC event producer and focusing more on growing and supporting the team. It’s bittersweet that I can’t work on all the events like before, but I was able to work on this upcoming event. It’s so special to me and I hope you will like it. 😭
While writing patch notes today, I realized we went from barely able to ship 2 events per patch at the start of 2021 to shipping 8 events in the final patch. Quantity isn't everything, but I am so proud of what we've accomplished and how much we've grown as a team.
Please remember that Blizzard is not a single person. What is happening there is absolutely unacceptable, but I know there are many people there who respect and care deeply about their colleagues. Let’s be the change we want to see in this industry we all love.
To those of you who has filled out our in-game surveys before, I appreciate you!! We learn so much from the responses and it really helps us make the game better.💕
