8 years ago today, a nine-alarm fire broke out at 298 Beacon Street in Boston. Two of our brothers were killed in the line of duty: Lieutenant Edward J. Walsh, 43 and Firefighter Michael Kennedy, 33. We will never forget their sacrifice and continue to pray for their families.

We never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Eighty years ago, six of our brothers died in the Luongo Restaurant fire in East Boston. Today, we joined their relatives – some who visited from Tennessee and Virginia – to remember, honor, and give thanks for their service.
