Working on
@8outof10bats
has to have been the biggest and best production I've been involved in! I loved every minute of working with this amazing team. We had everything, the animals, the people, the laughs, (maybe not the weather); it was truly an unforgettable experience 🥹
So, I’m 15 today!
Theme appears to be secondhand t shirts, pin badges, wildlife books & gadgets n a rather funky Bluetooth speaker for up in the garden 🔈
Taking Bud to the river 🐾 then later, a visit to Grandma for a social bubble kinda birthday bash 😋 Laterz, new potatoes 🥔
Such an honour to be invited by the Duchess of Cambridge on her ‘Back To Nature Garden’ at
#RHSChelsea
It’s a beautiful garden, all about families connecting with nature n I thought it was lush 🐝
It’s been an incredible day, represent young people in horticulture 🌿
It’s been eagle 🦅 central here on the Isle of

with excellent views of both golden & white tailed sea eagle 🦅 Later, we saw a juvenile wts eagle chilling with some seals, a northern diver, cuckoos n a huge dog otter

Top marks to my school 👌🏼Today was ‘well-being’ Monday and all lessons were cancelled 😜 We could book a 1-1 with our form tutor, which I did and then the day was free to do what you want. And this is what I did - walked on the moors for 6hrs! Top idea
#ChildrensMentalHealthWeek
Tameside Council what are you playing at??
@TamesideCouncil
A carpet of daisies, dandelions n buttercups wiped out in seconds 😡
Do you not want bees and other pollinators in Ashton ? 🐝

Back at Uni and heard there was a huge flock of waxwing nearby. Had myself a glorious autumn, riverside walk and yeah, there they were, approx. 70 of ‘em!
Epic filming skills 👌🏼
We don’t have a lawn in our garden, but where I’m sat, there’s a 10ft drop to the grassed communal alley, which is carpeted with dandelions and forget-me-nots; it looks wicked 💚

Mr Ishihara, the coolest dude at
#RHSChelsea
His Japanese garden is A-MAZ-ING, it's everything you expect - moss, maples, water - my idea of horticultural heaven!
I even learnt a bit of Japanese, but mixed with a bit of Manc, I don't think he understood a word I said!
Received 2 letters this weekend
The 1st, my predicted GCSE grades 👌🏼
The 2nd, this, from The High Sheriff,

Young Citizen of the Year 2020 Award for outstanding contributions towards social action in Greater Manchester 🙌
Both were a surprise, both, were great news 💚
It will come as no surprise that my fav garden at
#RHSChelsea
this year was of course, Mr Ishihara’s Japanese garden. You're immediately transported to the mountains of Japan as soon as you step it into it. The intricate detail of planting and landscaping was absolute heaven 👌🏼
Oldham is getting a lot of bad press at the mo, but the wildflowers in one of the Borough’s villages are just a delight and worth celebrating. The bees 🐝 butterflies 🦋 and bugs 🐛 were well happy 😃

Off on my travels to my kinda Mecca. Joining the

team on the Isle of Mull on a voluntary internship.
1.30am start, am totally trashed, but proper excited 😜
How it started......how it’s going. Exactly a year ago today, school went into lockdown, so I dug a (third) pond. Lots of landscaping & planting yet to do, but spotted 5+ frogs 🐸 in there on last night’s frogwatch, they just need to get it on 😉 My hair has grew some too ✂️
My science teacher asked what our opinion was on fracking. My hand shot up. His reply, ‘do put your hand down George, we all know how you feel’. He doesn’t believe in climate change n says it’s part of earth’s natural cycle. His attitude only makes me stronger in the eco-fight !
Teachers , if you find pupils talking in “strong or emotive terms about environmental issues like climate change, ecology, species extinction, fracking, airport expansion or pollution” or “writing environmentally themed graffiti” please give them 10/10 from me !

Wildlife Conservation Society.
I know rock all about how to run a society, but I know a wee bit about wildlife conservation.
Winging it from Sept ‘24☝️
Online science lesson, my teacher asks for an example of humans destroying ecosystems, I reply ‘raptor persecution’. He growls back, ‘George how can you persecute dinosaurs, when they’re extinct’. This from the man who doesn’t believe in climate change. It’s parents evening 2moro
Hawthorn, one of my favourite native plants. Found in hedgerows, it’s exceptional for wildlife. The spring flowers are great for pollinators and smell gorgeous. Come autumn the berries are top grub for thrushes & redwing.
Looking splendid here

Impulsive trip to the coast, where I'd heard tales of humpback whales.
Spotted some folk with scopes and well, there it was. Its massive head as it surfaced, the length, the dorsal fin and then the blow, wow the blow, like Chatsworth's Emperor Fountain!
Special day, cheers!
Apparently, my badges are causing quite the convo, giving folk over on Facebook, Rik Mayall vibes!

Pulled up the last of the beetroot at weekend n now all that remains is the purple sprouting broccoli. Think it’s time to put the veg beds ‘to bed’. Apart from a few rogue spuds 🥔 we’ve had a mega successful growing season this year. Roll on spring ‘19 !!!

Drama on the bird feeder just now as a jackdaw got its head trapped. His mates were circling overhead going crazy, responding to his alarm call. It was heart pounding stuff as I managed to safely hold its wings and twist without injuring him. He flew off in seconds. Blimey 😓

Had a stressful few weeks and the Munro’s were calling.
Train to Tyndrum for a 6hr hike up Ben Lui. Followed a stream thru the woods, leading to an imposing craggy mountain. Stumbled upon the incredible wreckage of a WW2 plane embedded in the stream.
Top views at the summit ⛰️

Near the top of my list, ‘Mull Wildlife Tours’.
Well, that’s one big, successful, mind-blowing tick.
