Top marks to my school 👌🏼Today was ‘well-being’ Monday and all lessons were cancelled 😜 We could book a 1-1 with our form tutor, which I did and then the day was free to do what you want. And this is what I did - walked on the moors for 6hrs! Top idea #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek

Mr Ishihara, the coolest dude at #RHSChelsea His Japanese garden is A-MAZ-ING, it's everything you expect - moss, maples, water - my idea of horticultural heaven! I even learnt a bit of Japanese, but mixed with a bit of Manc, I don't think he understood a word I said!

It will come as no surprise that my fav garden at #RHSChelsea this year was of course, Mr Ishihara’s Japanese garden. You're immediately transported to the mountains of Japan as soon as you step it into it. The intricate detail of planting and landscaping was absolute heaven 👌🏼

My science teacher asked what our opinion was on fracking. My hand shot up. His reply, ‘do put your hand down George, we all know how you feel’. He doesn’t believe in climate change n says it’s part of earth’s natural cycle. His attitude only makes me stronger in the eco-fight !

Hawthorn, one of my favourite native plants. Found in hedgerows, it’s exceptional for wildlife. The spring flowers are great for pollinators and smell gorgeous. Come autumn the berries are top grub for thrushes & redwing. Looking splendid here @HulmeCgardenC #hedgerowoftheyear

6 attempts 35+ hours 30+ miles walked 2 very brief glimpses and FINALLY a cracking view of the #beardedvulture on her roost. Rewarded with a magnificent view of it taking off from the ledge and circling above our heads. What an absolute beauty 👌🏼

Drama on the bird feeder just now as a jackdaw got its head trapped. His mates were circling overhead going crazy, responding to his alarm call. It was heart pounding stuff as I managed to safely hold its wings and twist without injuring him. He flew off in seconds. Blimey 😓

Had a stressful few weeks and the Munro’s were calling. Train to Tyndrum for a 6hr hike up Ben Lui. Followed a stream thru the woods, leading to an imposing craggy mountain. Stumbled upon the incredible wreckage of a WW2 plane embedded in the stream. Top views at the summit ⛰️

Saving my best til last… Had an absolute dream encounter with a bird that I've wanted to see for a reeeaaaalllllyyyy long time. The elegant... the sensational.... THE BLACK THROATED DIVER!!!!! We had outstanding views of them fish and court. 1/2

And just like that, I’m 16 😵 Had the birthday of dreams @RSPBArne with my ‘birding buddy’ @dougaldog 3 types of raptors in first 5mins. Teaming with birds, dragonflies, lizards, spiders n butterflies. Just fab Finished the day with a beer at Corfe Castle. Top day, cheers 👍🏼

It’s #HenHarrierDay today, raising awareness of the persecution of this beautiful bird. I’ve been lucky to see a male, female and juvenile #HenHarrier over at Parkgate those 3 birds represent just an eighth of the British population and that’s rubbish. Photo by @WildeAboutBirds

When I was choosing my GCSE’s aged 14, my mum said, ‘when you’re 18, what’s your North Star, then work out how you’ll get there’. Near the top of my list, ‘Mull Wildlife Tours’. Well, that’s one big, successful, mind-blowing tick. Me mum loves a good plan! @Nature_Scotland

My 1st day volunteering with @RSPBDoveStone working up on the open moors carrying out some peat bog restoration work, damming up the water flow using heather bales. I was proper enjoying myself til a thunderstorm stopped play. I’m completely sodden, time for a bath @Natures_Voice

Sad to hear the news about the death of naturalist, David Bellamy. I met him a few years ago @The_RHS Chelsea. What an inspiring gentleman and a true conservation champion. We’ve visited a few of his award sites, incl a campsite, where the land is managed as a haven for wildlife
