One thing I picked up at Eden I'll do everywhere I work from till the day i kpai is writing weekly reports and giving contexts on what happened. Not just in meetings but in a documentation. Not just in numbers but saying why the numbers added up/didn't add up.

@yojora NYSC opened my eyes too. one man sent the 19800 we got in camp to his family. I finished mine even before we left camp. I saw people who were poor mehn. People who were going to suffer if they spend 5 naira out of their money. damn it. shit makes me emotional every time.

I remember when my dad died in '16 and I was stranded. We couldn't access my dad's account ATM so the church paid my final year fees. It's why I'll forever be indebted to the church. They were also the ones who paid my brother's school fees. We were all in private unis.

I still believe the best approach to being a generalist is by specializing in different aspects of your field, one role at a time. For instance, in marketing, you could focus on writing for two years, then shift to ads for another two years, followed by a year or so of SEO.

Probably a big company. Was telling a friend that one culture shock I got working in a big company is how they see talents. In small companies, they are looking for superstars and saviours. In big companies, there's this "come as you are and we will teach you the work."

Many reasons for this tbh, chief of it being that most don't take time off before switching. Sometimes, the money is 3x your former salary and that's all you're thinking of. You join, and then there's also the newbie pressure. You want a quick win. You want to justify your pay
