@MayorDeegan
for official updates.
Love won tonight, and we made history. We have a new day in Jacksonville because people chose unity over division—creating a broad coalition of people across the political spectrum that want a unified city. Together, we will bring change for good to Jacksonville by making good on…
Rebekah Jones said in an email to CBS12 News that her removal was "not voluntary" and that she was removed from her position because she was ordered to censor some data, but refused to "manually change data to drum up support for the plan to reopen."
This brilliant woman deserves special praise. Our fearless campaign manager, Pat McCollough created the plan from day 1 and worked it to perfection. Pat is a Marine, a minister, and a grassroots legend. This victory is hers and we’re just getting started. Thank you
@Mccollo

As a person who has spent my share of time in the Mayo Clinic, I just have to say this is so selfish. The mask isn't to protect you, Mr. Vice President.
Mike Pence refused to wear a mask on Tuesday as he toured the Mayo Clinic and met with hospital staff and a patient, rejecting the famed hospital’s policy that all visitors cover their faces to reduce

For the first time, Florida’s fired data scientist speaks out and she isn’t pulling punches. “Feels like a cheap political move to avoid discussing the real story here, which is how the COVID-19 data is now being manipulated.” Public Statement – Bek Jones
Jacksonville won’t be the same without Ben Frazier. He was the first Black anchor of a local TV news program. He advocated for civil rights and equality from City Hall to the United Nations. A man of integrity and conviction, Ben brought overwhelming passion to everything he did.…
Thank you, Team Donna and Jacksonville! I couldn't be more grateful for your support along this journey. We have a new day in Jacksonville because of it. You believed in
#changeforgood
and you worked your heart out to bring it to the city we all love.
We are less than three hours from
#changeforgood
! If you haven’t voted yet, get to the polls before 7pm tonight. Make your voices heard, Jacksonville! Let’s create a united city that works for all of us.
Instead of apologizing, today my opponent doubled down on his divisive rhetoric. If this is the way he talks about people who don’t look like him or me, how can he represent everyone. FL-04 deserves better. Please join me at
For those who suffered through my very hoarse voice yesterday, you won’t be surprised to learn I can’t even produce a sound today. Your suggested remedies are below. Not super excited to gulp the cayenne pepper but we do what we must.
Every day is an opportunity to get off the sidelines, do good, & start listening to each other again.
And that's what I'm doing today.

Our country was founded on the principles of equality and religious freedoms. To call a woman of color a terrorist “sympathizer” simply because of her faith background, is reprehensible, and exactly what divides us.
I was in the same briefing as you,
@RepJayapal
, and this is absolutely false. You and your squad of Ayatollah sympathizers are spreading propaganda that divides our nation and strengthens our enemies.

My roots and love for Jacksonville run deep. You’ve always had my back and it’s my honor to have yours. Together, we are going to bring

My nephew, whom I love, decided to get married during the
@FSUFootball
opener against LSU. So of course I had to dress like one of the Glitter Guys. Go ‘Noles!
Thank you, Mayor Curry. My heart is with you and your family after the loss of your father. I look forward to working with you to unify the city we both love and build on the progress
@CityofJax
has made under your leadership.
.
@DonnaDeegan
congratulations on your victory & my best wishes for success as you prepare to take up the responsibilities & challenges of Mayor. I am confident the future of our beloved
@CityofJax
will continue to be bright with you at the helm.
I support the bill proposed by House Dems:
1. free testing for
#coronavirus
2. health care workers support
3. unemployment insurance
4. food assistance
5. paid emergency medical leave
Everyone should get behind this. It’s time to put people over politics.
Happy Pride Month! Our vibrant LGBTQ+ community is an important piece of the beautiful mosaic that is Jacksonville. Let's celebrate with love in our hearts, a city that welcomes everyone with open arms no matter who they are or who they love.
It's the highest single-day total for positive test results returned in Florida, but it also coincides with the most total test results being submitted so far. According to the state's report, 85,086 test results were received from labs on July 3.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support in Tuesday’s election! We’re the top vote getter and we’re just getting started! It will take all of us running together through the finish line to bring
#changeforgood
to Jacksonville on May 16th. Let’s go win!!
Y’all say happy birthday to Linda! She drove from St. Simons to Jacksonville to celebrate her 63rd trip around the sun and I was lucky enough to meet her outside City Hall. Enjoy your day, Linda! 🎉
It’s unacceptable for this to happen in our city. It’s also not the first time we’ve seen antisemitism and other vile attacks on our neighbors in recent months. We must condemn any and all intolerance in the strongest of terms. Hate speech has no home in Jacksonville.
I’m so grateful to all of you who invested your heart and soul in this campaign. It was my honor to run for you. I’m hopeful Rep. Rutherford heard your voices and will work for meaningful healthcare reform + coverage for pre-existing conditions and more. Our work continues.
Congressman, clearly you are passionate about the New York Times. But are you equally passionate about our troops? Russian bounties, a President who looks the other way and invites Putin to the G-7. Silence.
But the New York Times writes about a national park. And then you tweet?
We shouldn't judge history by the standards of today.
By the way, the namesake of the New York Times is the Duke of York, James II, who shipped more African slaves to the Americas than anyone in the history of the Atlantic slave trade.
Also, your offices are on "stolen" land.
Thank you, Mayor! Full hearts will carry us. Thank you for your kindness and encouragement and for your years of service to our city. I’m grateful for the opportunity to take the next leg of the race.
It’s time for every American who values the Constitution to speak up in defense of the United States Postal Service and demand that it stop being used as a political pawn. And it’s past time for our representatives to act as a check on this administration.

John, I'm a proud member of this community my whole life. A proud capitalist, and certainly proud of our troops. You embarrass yourself and us with division and lies like these. Your intention was clear. Those are the facts.
So, this is your application to join the Socialist Squad? It’s a pretty strong submission:
‼️ Lying
‼️ Playing the race card
‼️ Ignoring the facts
Meanwhile, I’ll keep speaking the truth, supporting our men and women in uniform, and defending
@realDonaldTrump
when he’s right.
It’s time to bring our city together, change the toxic culture, and turn the page on fear and division. Thank you to my dear friend and our former Sheriff Nat Glover for speaking out on the divisive and untrue attack ads against me.
#ChangeForGood
I could feel your energy on stage tonight! The choice is clear: we can be the healthy, safe, resilient and united city we deserve to be.
Or, we can let the same power seekers maintain their grip over Jacksonville. Let’s turn the page with
#changeforgood
on May 16.

Started off sign waving with

This woman was praised by Dr. Birx and others for the incredible job she did with this site. "Insubordination" sounds a lot like "she was warned, she was given an explanation, nevertheless she persisted."
The governor's office released a statement saying, in part:
"Rebekah Jones exhibited a repeated course of insubordination during her time with the Department."
Full statement here:

It’s by grace I survived cancer 3x. No one should die because they can’t afford a doctor. Remember when my opponent celebrated his vote to take healthcare away from millions? When you send me to Congress I’ll do everything in my power to make

Thanks Detective Varner! "I'm a 26 year police veteran and Donna is my choice. Don't believe the hype on TV. She supports our police and will fully fund them. Her calls for accountability are important for both the community and police. It's time to unite our city."

I’m running for Mayor of Jacksonville to bring fresh eyes to the opportunities of our future and make good on the broken promises of our past. Join me. ➡️

First, it's common sense that when you are battling an illness you don't stop paying your doctors and nurses. Defunding the World Health Organization in the middle of a pandemic, is just not smart. In fact, it's reckless and it's playing politics with people's lives
Rutherford also said he supports Trump’s decision to suspend U.S. financial support for the World Health Organization so there can be an accounting of how that organization handled the outbreak of COVID-19 when it started in China.
What is disappointing
@RepRutherfordFL
is your partisan attack on congressional leaders working to ensure that every dollar goes to saving lives and the livelihoods of those most affected by this pandemic.
Disappointing to see
@SenSchumer
leading the Democrats to vote down a bipartisan
#coronavirus
relief package yesterday. Now, while we are all back in our districts,
@SpeakerPelosi
is in D.C. attempting to create her own legislation for a political wish list.
I struggle with all the attention the Q Congresswoman from Georgia is getting. Yes, she says and does bigoted hate filled things. But why are we helping her spread them? I’m perfectly willing to be told I’m wrong here. But it sure seems she’s getting exactly what she wants.
Our first TV ad of the runoff election is on the air! People are tired of the broken promises and ugly politics. I'll be a Mayor who brings us together to get things done.

It’s not about the polls or pundits. It’s about people and the power of our vote. History, and a new day are waiting. Let’s do this Jacksonville! Vote for

Bob Graham was Florida’s governor when I was a cub reporter covering the Florida legislature right out of college. He made me feel at ease and always remembered me by name. It’s how he treated everyone. Godspeed to a great man.
In times of loss, we remember a giant among us. Bob Graham was not just a Governor or a U.S. Senator; he was a beacon of leadership and a devoted family man. His legacy of compassion and dedication will endure.
We express our gratitude to Senator Graham for the path he has…

It was my honor to attend this morning’s Memorial Day Service at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Wall. My heart is with our Gold Star families who continue to grieve for those who have given all for our country. May God bless them and comfort them.
Early voting has started! Don't wait to cast your ballot. Take a few minutes and go vote today! Making your voice heard is how we bring
#changeforgood
to Jacksonville.
More straight up voter suppression. This bill would disproportionately affect the poor and student voters. Call your state reps and let them know we should be expanding voting rights, not making it harder to vote.
#VotingRights
One of last doors I knocked on today, a 78 year old woman who told me she saw
@AndrewGillum
on the candidate forum in Jax and filled out her ballot for him that night. “The only candidate with a clear passionate vision. Just what we need.” Looks like she wasn’t alone.
Great to welcome the amazing
@staceyabrams
to Duuuuuval! She’s doing the work to end
#VoterSuppression
so that everyone’s voice is heard.
“They are hoping they can siphon away our commitment by making it harder to vote”, she said. We can’t let that happen.

One thing we weren’t quite sure of was how and why Jacksonville was awarded that federal money. Well, News4JAX got the answers to those questions and more during an exclusive interview with U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg.
I’m grateful for the widespread support and people across the political spectrum placing their faith in me. Let’s be the
