It appears Shanghai is on track to have more covid infections than Wuhan did in 2020. Whereas there was little societal resistance to the lockdown once it was imposed in Wuhan, resistance in Shanghai is palpable now. The absolute majority of Shanghai residents are vaccinated.

My mother passed away peacefully at 18:08 on Friday November 1. She’s just a couple of months shy of 99 (which would be 100 by the Chinese lunar reckoning). I’ll forever remember the smile on her face when I reached her on Thursday. Members of my extended family also visited her.
