"Loving your own is natural." Jesus said it like this, "If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them"-Lk 6:32 Jesus doesn't call us to be "natural," but to gospel-saturated love and sacrifice. Adoption is a great example

There is no moral obligation to adopt children. Not from the ghetto, Sudan, or Russia. Contra the trendy movement led by Russ Moore & David Platt, the gospel does not require adoption. In fact, it is often unwise & detrimental to do so. Loving your own is natural, not sin.
