When I was 10, my select team had a tourney in Seattle. Home plate umpire calls time in the middle of the game, walks out of the gate, lights up a cigarette behind the right field fence. 5 mins later…comes back like we all didn’t just see him have a heater break. Only in Seattle

Dead on here. Next time you see a breaking ball off the machine; have the feeder mess with the timing of the feed so that it forces you to feel sinking into the front side. On the actual swing, I like to call it “walking it out” to the opposite field middle infielder.

Cheat code for HS coaches: If you have a hack attack. Take the legs off, set on ground, bottom dial 2 numbers below the top dials. Give infielders an empty bucket. Have them stand 50-60’ away. You can go through 4 buckets of very challenging top spin ground balls in 15 minutes.

If your player is thinking about a swing mechanic during a game; they won’t hit. If they have one feel cue combined with “get a good pitch,” they’ll have a much better chance at success. Don’t creat robots. Create instinctive ball players that trust hitting the gas pedal.

@devenmorgan Agreed. Not to mention, have these people worked w kids on “mechanics.” They lack fine motor skills to actually make mechanical fixes which again circles the conversation back to stress simply caused by throwing/over pitching. These people are missing the forest for the trees.

@Dmikesouz @108_Performance I have lots of problems with “launch quickness,” none more than most hitters commit the barrel when they “snap,” which is why most HLP hitters have bad ball flight. Once the hands commit - so does the barrel. Only way you can take back control is by slowing the barrel down.
