Front side moves in search of higher bat speeds is a great way to not hit better in game. Bat speed isn’t bad, but how your training yourself to generate it often leads to more miss. Come check out our brand new building in Bellevue, WA, you won’t want to leave! @TheElevatedPA

So important to understand what makes you, you. Bonds thought catch deep, turner out front. Trout feels on top, others level, others straight up. Some feel slow to fast, others 70%, and some all or nothing. Just because swing patterns are similar doesn’t mean thoughts are! #real

Post Hitting Checklist: 1. Timing (late/early?) 2. Selection (good/bad decisions) 3. Mentality (approach/thoughts) 4. Ball Flight (results) 5. Feel (rushed, tense, loose, easy etc) Timing is always number 1. Timing can directly impact the rest.

Timing is hitting. Great swing plane creates timing forgiveness. Solid sequence allows athletic adjustments. Mentality of a giant breeds competitive at bats. Be on time. Be on plane. Be athletic. Be mentally tough! #AreYouALionOrLamb ?

Having an elite swing ; a swing that arrives on plane and on time more often then average hitters. Is absolutely vital to be great. But... Having an elite mind is far more important. Having the comprehension and focus to constantly be learning and adjusting and then trusting...

Spinners get sliders away. Pushers get FB’s in. Choppers get sinkers. Loopers get elevated FB’s. Great swings hit multiple pitches and get paid!

The amount of times a hitter thinks they are too early but are actually late making move and just panic ripping hands to compensate leading to weak out front contact has to be 90/100.

Watch for the hitters who take hangers for strikes and same hitter will chase the offspeed in dirt or FB up…they are late. Not seeing ball early enough. Panic take because ball looks like it’s hitting them and then panic swing because ball looks like a strike then is not…

Funny how the best hitting coaches I know don’t work out of big cookie cut cages with shiny new turf and metal fences. Don’t judge a book by its cover. Don’t judge a hitting coach by his cage or toys. Great info is only as good as the person translating it!

Guys that hit .210 go 0-2 and auto 0-4 because of stress and panic. 2-2 turns into 2-4 because of lost focus or care. Guys who hit .310 turn 0-2 into 1-4 and 2-2 into 3-4/4-4. Having a great swing helps an enormous amount but having a great mind will always be the greatest edge

Not sure who needs to see this but timing and vision are by far the most important piece to game hitting. Late panic cripples hitters....path and adjustability will both greatly improve. You’ll miss less, chase less, and ultimately hit more “easy rockets”!

Huge majority of hitters have engrained bad timing into what they think is on time. Constantly taking panic swings. Wondering why they chase, have no adjustability, and constantly miss hit great pitches to hit....Fix timing first folks. Then approach. Mechanics will improve a lot

Chopping may be a thing of the past for most now but swinging up too early is very prevalent in many these days. Here’s a great example of what being “on top” of ball with hands looks like. Barrel works under and through. Not under and straight up or left.

why you have bad timing: 1. Late making move to ground - too much back move? - trying to read pitch then make move? - guessing? - forward move too early (lunge or foot down at 50/50 and drift out of backside)? - path disconnected and outside shoulders (bad long &slow) #TicToc

Folks, when choosing a “select” program or team for your kid, please do your research on what kind of development your going to get for your money. Many programs recruit and compile teams of good players who win because they are better now but unfortunately too many don’t improve

Reminder to all hitters about to hit that 2-3 month prep for your respective seasons; Hitting well in the cage, in closed skill environments or chasing numbers without context of the game, does not lead to in game success. Move better. Challenge. Adjust. Challenge more!

Rotational Hitting vs linear hitting will always be argued. A great swing needs both linear movements and rotational movements. You can’t argue that. Figuring out where a hitter needs to be more linear or more rotational is always unique to each hitter! #Don ’tBeCloseMinded

“I’m just trying to get my foot down and recognize the pitch” - trout When you watch trout swing, he doesn’t lose rhythm. Getting foot down early vs getting ready slightly early to recognize better may be the single most important detail for elite timing. #makeMove2see

Always been a huge fan of this view. Go pro with a cheap adjustable stand can get some great angles that you normally can’t get with an iPad.

It’s never been about recognition, boasting, “look at me”, buy my product, I’m the best, or any of the other garbage self promoting things I see daily. It’s all about learning, learning, and learning. I want to be the best possible hitting coach to my players. Period. #BeReal

Some hitters hear the info, work it, and believe they get it... The best hitters live, breathe, question, and master it... Average hitters look for excuses... Great hitters DON’T make excuses, they are just better TOMORROW! #DoNotBeAverage

Teaching exit velocity and swinging up at the mercy of making rotational moves with the front side is a great way to look good in the cage and inconsistent or worse in game. Teach game swings. Teach timing. Teach backside moves. #JustSayNoToSpinning #BeWearyOfPplSellingSnakeOil

Shout out to 2025 ASU commit @finnleach22 for going 4-4 w/ 4 doubles…after 3 I told him there was no way he hits another and here’s him proving me wrong.

A great sequence allows for the best timing. The best timing allows for the best decisions. The best decisions allow for natural reaction (non panic). No panic allows barrel to work on plane deeper/longer. Longer on plane = bigger margin for error. #HitBallinAirTheRightWay

Just the beginning of my favorite time of year! So many guys already raking. Let’s go hitters! All hail spitting on spin down. Clobbering FB’s over the white. Staying through hangers. Adjusting on the fly like a seasoned vet. Let’s crush PNW!

The problem with good hitters with bad swings is pitching will almost always beat it eventually. But a bad hitter with a great swing may never hit. Live at bats are nothing like a flip or tee. Get better at hitting by hitting! Find the ability to separate cage from game! #Rake

When your swing starts producing stronger angles, you can attack pitches differently. What a cool example of naturally turning on a ball most would try and force oppo!

One of the softer cleaner entries in the game. Too many coaches preaching big moves and force production. Do your own research people. Lot of bad out there. This is not that :)-
