The lead arm should be high enough to read the team name on the front of the jersey. Even on low pitches. One of the most common mistakes in the swing, IMO.

This is WILD to me. 3 games for $600 AND each parent has to pay $10 (per day) to get in. This means a $400/game ($200 per team) becomes $600+ a game with SOME parents attending. Not including concessions. And that's before hotel kickbacks. For 8u AA games.

THIS is how you take a turn around first base when the outfield has to range for the ball. (Especially to LF when you have a great angle to see the incoming throw.) If you aren't trying to put pressure on the defense on this type of batted ball, why are you even playing???

Who makes the most money from travel tournaments? Airlines. Hotels. Tournament organizers. I hear stories of families paying $5k to attend one week long event. Take a full roster + families…. Easily over $50k. Now imagine if that money was spent on local resources instead.

If you need to extend your arms to hit the ball hard, you are doing something wrong. Extending arms is OK if the pitch is away/you are early. If you HAVE TO extend, you have holes. (Also, most who feel they are "using their hands" are really just extending their arms.)

A few hitters for Oral Roberts made me think of Craig Biggio. Biggio doesn't get a lot of pub, but he's a Hall of Famer and (according to Google) is the only player in baseball history with at least 3,000 hits, 600 doubles, 400 stolen bases and 250 home runs. Pretty good!

From a leverage standpoint: If the rear elbow is behind the hands, you'll push. If the rear elbow is ahead of the hands, you'll pull with that elbow (and people will call it bat drag.) If the rear elbow gets aligned with the hands, the body's turn can reach the barrel.
