Is there an optimal title length on YouTube? Will a shorter title get more views than a longer one? I studied 56,101 YouTube videos to find out! If we take a random sample of 5,000 videos, we see a correlation of 0.0002, which is basically non-existant.

What happens when you upload a $1,000,000 MrBeast video to a smaller YouTuber's channel (Ludwig)? Apparently it doesn't perform as well, getting 1.8M views instead of the usual 20M+ views when uploaded to the MrBeast channel with 100M subscribers. Could be too soon to tell.

I just spent all day working on updating the CTR Predictor to *also* predict Views. Surprisingly, it's MORE accurate at predicting Views than CTR. This is exciting, because I assumed that predicting views is a much harder problem than CTR. Stay tuned for more info.

AVD x CTR is a fascination metric to track on YouTube. When you plot it against Views from Impressions, you'll see how the YouTube algorithm won't promote beyond a number of Views unless you cross the AVD x CTR thresholds. E.g. Under 1sec/impression gets 10K views or fewer.

VidIQ shows Views per Hour (VPH) which is the change in Views over time. Wouldn't it be cool if you could see the change in VPH over time? This would be your "View Momentum". Getting a positive View Momentum after changing your title or thumbnail would mean its a good change.

I find there are 2 kinds of YouTubers: - Artists: use video as a medium to express themselves. Being creative is what motivates them. Usually have a small team. - Entrepreneurs: use video as a form of leverage. Often have spin-off businesses. Very data-driven. Growth mindset.

YouTube's recommendation algorithm matches videos to a viewer given the viewer's preferences. What if there was an algorithm that told the YouTuber what their audience wants to be recommended? This is one level beyond looking at search traffic.

5) Shorter titles tend to get more views. Less text in a thumbnail also tends to get more views. Longer videos tend to get fewer views.

And just for fun: including the word "Minecraft" or "Clip" in your title will tend to increase the number of views you get. Meanwhile, including the word "Legends" in your title will give you fewer views. Let's call this the "Raid Shadow Legends" penalty.
