Happy to share our new work where we took a deep dive into ER-mito contact sites and metabolic cell bio! Thanks to all the authors and most importantly
@YatrikShahLab
and
@LyssiotisLab
for their support. I will share some snippets of this journey from my perspective (๐งต๐) (1/n)
Super thrilled to announce that I was awarded the
@theNCI
F99/K00 fellowship! Big big shout out to
@YatrikShahLab
and
@LyssiotisLab
who let me make a leap of faith into studying ER-mito contact sites in tumor metabolic rewiring๐บ๐บ๐บ
Happy to share that my first first-author paper just got published ๐ฅณ One step closer to graduation!
Based on

Check out this awesome work by

Hi science Twitter! My PhD program (
@UMichCMB
) is looking for a speaker who studies novel model organisms for a seminar series this fall. We are actively trying to look for URM, POC, and female scientists! Any recommendation will be appreciated! ๐
@BryRai
Thank you
@DMSabatini
for hosting me in your lab and
@hankadel
for being the best mentor! This past 3 summer research experience has made me grew tremendously as a scientist. Now off to
@umichOGPS
for my PhD!
Apparently someone took a pic of me in
@AACR
2019 when I was presenting at the undergrad poster session and itโs now used in their newsletter lol
Thanks for pointing it out
@ruckertmt

Hi science twitter! So I am fortunate enough to also get accepted to both
@NDSEG
and
@NSFGRFP
. Does anyone have any recommendation for which fellowship to accept? Seems like DoD offers more money than NSF
@AcademicChatter
. Any advice will be appreciated!
I am beyond honored to get awarded the

#LGBTQSTEMDay
! I came out to my friends in college, but didn't really come out "professionally" till recently. I am so grateful of all the support I got along my scientific journey. It's amazing to be authentic and do the stuff I love the most! ๐ณ๏ธโ๐๐งโ๐ฌ

Wow Iโm shaking! This prize is extremely well deserved for Dr. Charpentier and Dr. Doudna. Without CRISPR, I donโt think Iโll be able to do 80% of my PhD project!

BREAKING NEWS:
The 2020

in Chemistry has been awarded to Emmanuelle Charpentier and Jennifer A. Doudna โfor the development of a method for genome editing.โ
Had an amazing time sharing my work with the
@weillinstitute
community today! Appreciate this opportunity and feedback from a fantastic crowd of scientists!
The inaugural Weill Institute Emerging Scholars Symposium is beginning now with an introduction by Institute Interim Director

Up first:

Absolutely loved all the new friends/colleagues I met, and Looking forward to the next one ๐ฅณ

Amazing talk from
@OlzmannLab
discussing interorganeller crosstalk with lipotoxicity, lipid droplet proteome, and ferroptosis! Now Iโm curious how organelle IP couple with lipidomics can tell us.
This is absolutely horrendous! I am fortunate (?) enough to be a US citizen, but my parents came here with an F1 visa (or equivalent in the 1990s). I will not be doing science if they're not allow to come. What's wrong with this country๐คทโโ๏ธ
This is bad. ICE just told students here on student visas that if their school is going online-only this fall, the students must depart the United States and cannot remain through the fall semester.
First grad school in person conference was such a great experience! Thanks to all the organizers and speakers for all the stimulating talks and discussions! Looking forward to the next conference ๐
Dr. Anthony Fauci lays out three ways future scientific communicators can build trust:
1) Always go by the data
2) Admit when you don't know something
3) The goal is not to show how smart you are. It's to get people to understand what you're talking about.

Understanding how cells integrate dynamic sub-cellular organellar structures and networks to whole body tissue architecture and (patho)physiology will be critical for the whole metabolism field!
Anyone who has taken a biology class has seen a diagram like this, with the kidney-bean mitochondria and the shell of endoplasmic reticulum around the nucleus (thanks )--but we now know these images are wildly oversimplified 1/n
Day 1 of the Graduate Student Recruitment Program (GSRP)! GSRP provides senior-level graduate students the opportunity to explore postdocs at

3 years ago, I went to
@ABRCMS
to present my poster from my summer research experience
@MITBiology
. Today, I am more than excited to be part of
@umichOGPS
. I will be there from 5:45pm to 7pm Mon to Thurs. Come by and learn about doing a PhD in life sciences!
Finally done submitting all 3 of my fellowships for this fall today! Regardless if I get them or not, it has been an extremely rewarding process. Thanks for everyone who spent their precious time reading my drafts...now sit and wait till next spring/summer!
Great way to start the first weekend at

I can vividly recall Angelika was the first professor who spoke to the the MSRP cohort during my first summer at MIT. Although she probably donโt know a lot of us, she definitely impacted all of with respect to science, mentorship, and perseverance!
Angelika occupied a league of her own, with an infectious energy, brilliant mind, bottomless heart, and tenacious grit. Her loss is irreplaceable and far too soon, but may we all carry part of her legacy. Thank you, Angelika, for everything. Rest assured we will keep pipetting โค๏ธ
Mentoring is a learning process, and it is NOT EASY! BUT it was a breeze and an amazing time with Jason. Definitely got more out of this experience than I expected ๐คฉ Watch out for his grad school app MD/PhD programs!๐
Way to go, Brooke & Jason ๐๐ผ

I will like to thank
@acorbe2
for inviting me and other grad students to contribute to this "how to choose grad school" piece. Both Anita and Carly did the heavy lifting, but happy to contribute a little :)
Those who got NSF GRFP or any fellowship and talked about โbroader impactsโ and โdiversityโ better be doing something now, or else you donโt deserve the recognition!!!

Looking forward to visiting

Very disappointed to see this new paper in

Today marks 2 year anniversary of participating in my first national meeting
