Ay,
@KeithCarterOM
if we don’t end up building the statue, can we at least change a couple speed limits to 25 - for
@TimElko
?
Old Taylor Road would be a good start.
BREAKING: OHS Pole Vaulter and
@RazorbackTF
signee John Scott Kendricks has broken his brother Sam’s Mississippi State Record height, jumping 17’ 0-3/4” (5.20m) in the Oxford Relays held at Bobby Holcomb Field.
Talked to OHS-alum JaQuan Webb last night and he’s told me he has officially been granted his release from Marshall and has joined the Ole Miss Track team. He will run the 100 & 200 Sprint events.
It is one year ago today I made this post across all of my social media platforms regarding my mental state. It was one of the most emotional nights of my life. My outlook on my life completely changed after hitting send that day. Thank you for all the support over the past year.
What cost Ole Miss the game: Not that call. I couldn’t tell you if that was a correct ruling or not (everyone that replies to this will tell me it wasn’t)
7 Red Zone trips, 1 TD to show for it.
That cost Ole Miss the game.
News today: OHS-alum (and former classmate of mine) Andrew Stuart will be going to the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing as the Head Strength and Conditioning coach for the USA Speedskating team.
He’s the first person from Oxford to attend the Winter Olympics in any capacity.
Also tonight, Duke HC
@DavidCutcliffe
will be attending Oxford @ Desoto Central. This is his first chance since his son Chris became Oxford’s HC that he gets to watch one of his games. (Duke is off this week)
BREAKING: OHS-alum Brad Freeman has been selected as the back-up Back Judge for Super Bowl LV. It’s the first time either on-field or back-up he’s been selected for a Super Bowl assignment.
With Oxford being Region 1-6A Champions and the playoffs designed as they are, Oxford will not leave Bobby Holcomb Field for the first three rounds of the playoffs.
Finally got around to looking at everyone and anyone that replied, liked, retweeted, etc… and to thank y’all for the support.
I’ll be getting back into the swing of things with a head full of steam (with a clearer head than before) in the coming days.
Not to be forgotten, Eli Wicker earned his first career win of his high school career. Clark Stovall walk-off RBI single driving in Drew Bianco who led off the 8th with a double.
Maxpreps has updated their computer rankings and has Oxford finishing at No. 1 in the state. (Picayune was No. 1 last week prior to losing to West Point - where they finished at 2) Starkville finished at 4, Oak Grove 5, Corinth 6, South Panola at 8.
This was the best team I saw all year. They communicate so well on the back line. Well deserved.
Side note: Mississippi’s only National Referee had the whistle for that match today and it was his last match doing HS.
@kerahcaz
With DoorDash, I routinely make $15-$16/hour and probably net $13 after fuel and long-term it is probably more like $10-$11/hour profit after other car expenses. I do live in a rather “condensed” college town.
I’ll walk away with this complement from the game.
Horn Lake has the best defensive line I’ve ever seen in high school football.
I’ve been watching it for 20+ years now.
Girls 🏀: Oxford defeated Calhoun City 57-50.
Boys 🏀: Oxford defeated Calhoun City 89-79.
Tykel Owens has a career-high 41 points. Kylan Blackmon had 34 points. First time Oxford had a player score 40 and another score 30 since Jarkel Joiner & Tyler Williams did it @ Ashland.
Caliya Toles had a triple-double last night. 17 points, 21 rebounds, and a career-high 10 blocks.
The last girls triple-double occurred during the 33-0 season when Erika Sisk put up 19 points, 10 assists, and 10 steals against Ashland.
I guess
@chaserose_5
can do everything off the basketball court. He was the individual winner at 5-Star City Cross Country meet in Senatobia today with a time of 16:30. (Won by 54 seconds over the next person)
Luke Johnson (3rd) & Matthew Singletary (5th) also finished top 5.
