Black software engineers, how are you using your skills for The Movement? How would you want to use your skills? Can we team up?
The software development lifecycle doesnβt jive w/ the immediacy & adaptability of grassroots movements, how can we make an impact?
#BlackTechTwitter
Not everyone is working on side projects, not everyone is working on a body of work to create passive income; not everyone is in hot pursuit of every frameworks release cycle.
the Twitterverse is exhausting and you are enough as you are.

Iβll word it this way: I LOVEEEEE that she is and wish there were more opportunities for black women in tech to work one job as a senior, travel and make 300K+
As for working 3, this is the first time Iβve heard of it but Iβm so so so hype for a black woman to be making it π₯
Happy Dev-iversary to me π
First year of being a full time software engineer.
Iβve been coding since 2015.
Analyst => Project Manager => Developer.
Itβs been a whirlwind.
my BEST advice to anyone starting a production project from scratch:
*start* with deploying it. Create an empty project with only scaffolding, focus on file types and requirements, then get up an empty div / `hello_world` into some end view.
Congratulations to our two new board members
@DawnWagesSays

and to our two returning board members!

Thank you also to everyone who ran -- it was a truly amazing list of candidates -- and to everyone who voted. π π

Iβm a fan of yours, but your original tweet poses the two movements comparatively when the intersection exists.
Who ever does write it wouldnβt even have framed it that way. There a lot of people at that intersection and lifting them up would be the next step.
Itβs official! My gorgeous sister got a full ride to MIT and Harvard and is currently in a dual degree Masters program between the two institutions.

Theyβre making his resistance to be fully invested really clear, while still having him care about the outcomes. Iβm excited for the moment where he doubles down on teaching.
Make the decision in front of you.
I understand decisions can trigger existential dread. Resist the urge to feel like everything rides on this one move; it usually doesnβt.
Hi Friends! I've thrown my hat in the ring for the

Other than toastmasters, how did you improve your stage presentation and story telling skills.
I need to:
- remove the βuhmsβ
- speak a little slower
- speak more deliberately (sometimes I reword my sentence midway through it π₯Ή)
White men are like cats the way they always land on their feet.
The enormous structures of support that automatically just click together underneath them is more a testament of "too big to fall" systems built around White men than their intrinsic unequivocated value.
@anildash
Itβs interesting that you went with βtoo big to failβ because the most notable in recent economic history use of that phraseβ¦ failed and head to an economic crisis
Ok, now that "Imposter Syndrome" is dead, how do I address that feeling that Y'ALL put on marginalized groups to know everything or else we don't deserve a living wage in our career.
what are we calling that now?
Sending unwavering support to

I condemn the RANCID remarks made publicly about them by a PSF Fellow.

I donβt think youβve made the distinction, I think youβve stepped back and made a more general statement that I too would like to understand. Youβre losing the nuance that black queer people are trying to offer.

Posting your engagement ring feels both new-aged ostentatious and old-world classist. Regardless, Iβm ringfully engaged; feeling an instant bond and sentimentality toward this piece of jewelry. I am so thankful for this precious and special person.

She did bully a Black woman doctor on Clubhouse at the beginning of the pandemic. I donβt hold her responsible for the results, but DR attempted suicide as a result. She was trying to inform people about masking and a whole swarm of TH fans harassed her.

When I was interviewing and they said I'd get to support VSCode as a product, I thought they were saying it just to entice me and it would be a small portion of my responsibilities.
