When Princess Anne survived a kidnapping attempt in 1974, the Duke spoke of his relief — for the gunman. “If the man had succeeded in abducting Anne, she would have given him a hell of a time while in captivity,” he remarked.
Over recent years, there have been an increasing number of occasions where I hardly recognise my own country. Where are the authorities when such things happen? Where are the liberties of the many protected from the intimidation of the few? These are issues of common decency.
Masked male trans activists blocking women campaigners from holding an event at the Emmeline Pankhurst statue in Manchester. These bullies have turned the clock back 100 years. If you are still a supporter of their wretched movement, you need to take a long, hard look at yourself.
Spoken to my soon to be 97 year old Aunt, WW2 WREN, now isolating in her little cottage in deepest Shropshire. High spirit, pragmatic, optimistic & confident in her wonderful caring neighbours. Picture her here, & as she would have been in 1944, her character shining through
The Thames has frozen over for the first time in almost 60 years, with more snow and ice forecast this weekend. It froze at Teddington Lock in west London.

As a man, I don’t think I should be commenting on the issue, but men in black, with balaclavas, standing in a manner intended to intimidate is an affront to all of us and the values which we cherish in this country. The fact few dare comment around this, shows the fear of many

forgiveness of the RA is a lesson in responding to cancel culture like a grown up. 🤔👏🏻Sincere apologies are important & in a civil society should be valued. As this article says, such things are rare, so should be valued & accepted.

I agree. I consider myself British & English with Welsh, Scottish & Irish. Family. In any sport, if England is out, I support the other host nations with my heart. Why do they not?🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇨🇮
For those who disagree with policies, tonight, forget politics & think about our PM as a man, a son, a father & his partner who is expecting. Act towards others as you would wish them to act with you and yours.

Am sure there is an underlying tension, an anxiety which we suppress but actually is sapping energy. I am fortunate in my surroundings, exercise daily, have a lot of space etc., but by 9.00pm each day, I am whacked. I know I rise at 0600 but always do; this is something else🤔
Something just prompted my thinking. I & my generation grew up reading and playing with these, yet most of us seemingly didn’t grow up anti-social or violent. Not sure what to think of it, beyond feeling nostalgic.🤔
I thought I would share the 10 foot wall poster on the wall in my London office. Day by day, it reminds me that all progress depends on the discontented & those prepared to think the impossible & try. At the very least : Try!

I agree & am supportive. I am appalled by this, but the very strong women in my life advise me that whilst men shouldn’t be ambivalent, men shouldn’t think every issue is one for them to wade in on. I am just trying to support but respect women’s leadership role. Hope that helps.
