I often think how silly it is to participate in activities like Fantasy Football, but then I get a universal reminder of how great silly things can be.
I'm currently in physical therapy, which can be kind of depressing at times. Everyone there is in pain.
The Premier Lacrosse League is one of the most interesting case studies in sports.
They have...
• Players Get Equity
• Social Distribution
• Content x Commerce
• League Owned Teams
Now, they are releasing the best NFT I've seen in professional sports.

I'm honestly a bit dissapointed in
@shopify
team members posting on the success of Kanye's e-comm site launch.
Given his long and recent history of antisemitic remarks/behavior and even this imagery used, I'm a bit sad about it right now.
@esthercrawford
I respect your dedication and explanation, but I wouldn’t exactly critique people as “losing their minds” when reacting to the promotion of this type of work culture.
This could be troubling to the overworked who are desperately trying to avoid burnout.
I’d like to get together a group to discuss the impact of being in marketing and mental health.
Is this something anyone would be interested in participating in via a more formal way than on here?
I’m 36, so it is experience speaking here. I’m really concerned that a lot of you are going to be burned out if you keep up at this pace.
Cherish the family moments this week/weekend. Put the phones down. Hitting refresh on dashboards doesn’t spike revenue.
Soon there were 5 people, ages 24-70+, all discussing concerns with their lineups. Everyone forgot about their struggles for a brief moment and debated who they should sit/start for the week.
Enjoy the silly things sometimes.
We are seeing CPG brands go from startup ideas to household names in rapid fashion today. It's awesome to see the success of companies like
@drinkolipop
@drinksanzo
etc. Build, build, build.
Seriously, take it from a 36 year old who has survived multiple recessions and startup successes and failures: take it easy on the weekend. Spend time with your family. They are the constant.
Trip to Trader Joe's was great today. No one was discussing checkmarks, politics, pending economic doom. Lots of excitement over peppermint and gingerbread.
If you are the CEO of a company, and your employee tweets about the successful open rate of his/her personal newsletter while your company's sales (of which they are responsible for) are tanking, how do you handle it?
CAREER UPDATE: After 3 years, my latest adventure has concluded. It's been a pleasure to work aside some really great colleagues and partners as we all look to connect the dots between e-comm and retail in a rapidly growing space. Thank you all.
I love this platform. It brings people together. My suggestion for 2022 - let’s have less threads talking about personal achievements and more threads talking about how we all can help one another succeed together. And success had a broad definition. 🤘🏻
I’m really impressed with
@truffsauce
. Not only has it made each Sunday breakfast better, but it created a highly giftable product (chefs, cooks, people who like food) that is an affordable luxury to give during tough economic times.
As an employee, it’s pretty stressful to be in D2C. Or really any business right now. I’m lifted by the community of friends I’ve made all trying to build and figure this out together. We’ll get through this weird time together.
Sometimes DTC Operators (those I admire and respect) take my critique of DTC as a lifestyle in a different direction than I intended.
What I don't love currently (and my opinion can change over time):
- DTC Founder Dinners
- Promotion of terrible work/life balance
- Exclusion
Has anyone written/spoken about recently on DTC brands losing their cult brand heat when scaling with Target/wholesale/third party retail and what impact that has had on long term growth?
I have no skin in this game but seems like there is a lot of piling on AG1 when its marketing for years was praised by DTC Twitter as a gold standard, no?
I just purged my Twitter following (for really the first time since joining in 2008) and unfollowed almost everyone I had been following who was not currently following me back. I went from 2500+ following to 838 following.

Sure, but Jess also has every right to bring what is a very triggering subject for many to a public forum.
It’s not a newsletter going out to a small audience. With that much reach comes responsibility to do more thorough background research on the subject.
@herrmanndigital
@Variety
it's a shame from a storytelling perspective, separate from the real world incident which is just unfortunate on all accounts.
Was the best character arc they had...
