Glad to see the $PACW situation get resolved. Playing it via the preferreds was the right call. $PACWP now trading at $21 vs. $10-12 during the turmoil. Compares favorably to PACW common, which is roughly flat during this saga. I've exited PACWP, but still long prefs for $WAL

PacWest continuing to pay the dividend on its preferred stock but cutting common dividend to $0.01. This is good news if you own the pref as it allows the bank to retain and build capital. $PACW $PACWP

What would have been the price of the $tsla secondary offering if the shares were subject to 180 day lock-up? Probably 1/2 the price. This stock is nothing more than a "greater fool" trading pit. @markbspiegel @TESLAcharts @montana_skeptic @WallStCynic @orthereaboot

Spoke w/ large fast food franchisee. Volumes are down -10% yr/yr right now, which is why many stocks making 52 wk lows. Silver lining is food deflation is occurring, current expectation is -0.50% in 2024. Fast food never lowers prices so margins should expand. Long: $SBUX $PZAA

I spent Monday in DC meeting with lawmakers to discuss the problems in banking system. Met with 4 members of Congress and a Senator on Banking Committee. Big picture – there is no cavalry riding to the rescue any time soon with structural reforms needed to stop deposit flight.

All 99 of my $JNJ shares were tendered and will be converted to 797 shares of $KVUE. I went short KVUE via naked calls that were assigned, which resulted in -800 shares short position. When the KVUE shares are delivered it will collapse the short and leave net profit of $1,201

@ArbStocktipster The other tricky thing is the $KVUE borrow rate is rising. Just for kicks (and really because I can’t help myself), I bought in the PA 99 shares of $JNJ and wrote 8 KVUE $18 Aug 25 calls. This should result in the position essentially netting itself out following exchange offer

10/ portfolios that have been occurred will reverse over time. Banks with stable funding and investment portfolios that are reasonable in size and duration, should be able to navigate this higher rate environment just fine.
