There are of course ways to unlock the value (eg sell their home, borrow against the home to buy another asset which covers the borrowed amount, etc.),

Yep. There’s people who buy assets and people who do not. Those that do not buy assets typically focus on consumption. Those who buy assets delay their gratification in exchange for future financial stability. Asset buyers continue to buy so their wealth compounds faster
Please be mindful when copying the investing style of others. If your risk tolerance differs from the person whom you’re copying you may make mistakes when the portfolio experiences a drawdown.

Much of the $3.7b is just growth too; Valley Forge has pretty low turnover. These are high quality companies that compound at a 20%+ CAGR, and have for years.
Investing doesn’t have to be complicated. Strong names that have solid FCF/Share + ROIC tend to do well over time.
Good news coming out of $SAIA this morning. LTL tonnage may have seen its trough in daily shipments. Too early to get excited, but this data point is trending in the right direction for transportation.
