a venture fund that just invests *completely* blindly 50k, as long as the company is sub 10M cap. the company has to be recommended by other “portfolio” companies who have raised over (x) amount. I bet you it would outperform. By a lot.

Tbh I don’t think Google / Meta / Apple are dropping any balls right now. I think they don’t mind the impression that they are “behind” Don’t forget, Google invented transformers. Apple invented the iPhone. Meta had Llama and saw the VR tsunami on the horizon. They aren’t dumb.

There’s a lot of applications where time sensitivity of the LLM response will matter more than the model used (Claude, Turbo, Llama). There should be an application layer that automatically changes models based off latency to optimize for the best one.
