Also- a white male OT was present and all staff (and paramedics!!!) continued to defer to him for information/decisions, despite me being the ALS trained medical doctor. He didn’t correct them. He wasn’t asked for ID. Being a Black woman is exhausting.

I’ve been a bystander at multiple emergencies over my 8 years as a doctor. Post emergency you’re asked to provide contact details/GMC no etc. To be asked mid emergency for formal ID was inappropriate, disrespectful to me and unsafe for the patient .
