Commander is such a funny format because half the player base is like, "Here's my Commander deck, every card is from before 2000 and it's themed entirely around my favorite words." And the other half is, "Here's my Commander deck, it's five-color all the legends WOTC regrets."

A reminder to Commander players that—unless you're using your graveyard a lot or drawing additional cards from them—spells like these are card disadvantage. You draw 2 and discard 2, but use a card to do it. So you're up 2 cards, but down 3.

If I could bestow ONE piece of advice to Commander players as to how to make your games more fun. It's this: Switch your feel-bad permanents to feel-bad spells. Run Plagiarize over Notion Thief.

If you're into Lord Xander, hell yeah. Glad you found a cool, new Grixis villain. If you're upset about Lord Xander, I think this card will be big fine in Commander. It will attract a ton of hate from turn one. It's expensive, hard to cast, and difficult to take advantage of.

I know we're all supposed to be on to 2X2 now, but I encourage you to take another look at Baldur's Gate. What it lacks in value, it makes up for in utility. I just ordered 7 foil Command Towers and a bunch of Bond lands. It's fun to draft and looks at partners with fresh eyes.
