In my culture, when there is a birth, and we say congrats, the response, *It's for us together*
This is deep. It means I am who I am because of you all. (Ubuntu). It takes a village to raise a child.
Thank you for the profound congrats messages.
African women do not need "trickle down" projects or small "windows" of funding; we need significant doors of opportunities enabling us to walk and sit in tables of decision making, and access significant resource. We are not micro, but truly the core of macro econ & pol. space
Samantha Chidodo, Nailed it! 12 points at A Level. I am over the moon with joy.
4 Years ago, Chief Bushu approached RMT requesting if we can support this girl who experienced child marriage and is passionate about going back to school.
On this very special day I was born.
The 14th pregnancy of mbuya Rozaria. She did not choose my father. She was taken out of school to marry him.
I founded Rozaria Memorial Trust in her honour: rights, justice & dignity for women and girls

The most special person in the world today is ME.
It's my born day and am going to "spoil" myself with doing nothing.
Self Care on my birthday.
Blessings to me.
Am visiting with my daughter this morning, and all I would have loved is to hug her, and whisper to her heart that her other names are INNOCENCE and FREEDOM.
I will only touch her fingers across the meshed fence at Chikurubi Maximum Prison.

I am shivering deep inside. Pain. Spent the afternoon with OUR Fari at Chikurubi.
My daughter is in good spirit and I passed some of your messages. She is worried that I may not be feeding her little dog biscuit 😊
She is INNOCENT. I simply want her FREEDOM.
We now have water, an orchard and a vegetable garden. Next week magetsi..
Our Next big thing: INTERNET!
The dream unfolding with girls in my community. Seeding the future for resilience, unleashing potential.
Our Rozaria Memorial Trust Education and Counselling Centre.
This child has a name, a family, a community, and a government. Her death has created outrage. We are all angry because its NOT a SINGLE child, its thousands of them in the country & millions in Africa who are raped, sexually abused and some die without anyone talking about them.
My daughter is innocent.
I just want her home.
This a gross injustice.

Its your 14th NIGHT in detention, without your freedom
It must be dark in that room you were moved to, with no lights.
Just know in your heart that there are thousands of candles lit by prayer...
Join me in prayers. Our daughter is at the High Court today, appealing against the perennial remands of her case. No trial date in sight. She was arbitrarily arrested & detained on 20 May 2019 of false charges of subversion.

Yes, am tired of the women and vulnerability framework, the dominant entry point for any discussion.
Lets flip the conversation, affirm women's extraordinary leadership, innovation, great work in society and then demand rights protection & opportunities.
Just touched listening to a Chief from Sierra Leone who was given a minor to marry and he REFUSED. A few weeks ago, the same Chief took his brother in law to court for sexually abusing a minor. We must continue to support such strong leaders in

More Details Emerge On Rimbi Bus Accident - iHarare News
One of the rare and daring acts in my life, was to be a Kombi driver. I used to ply the Westgate-Machipisa route.
The public transport sector requires more women's participation across the value chain.
A story yet to be written.
"His money is for rent, for savings to buy a house or a car, & yours should be for groceries & and family upkeep", she advised the bride.

The issue of age of sexual consent should NOT be conflated with the issues around consent for medical and health care service for adolescents.

So the "non working section of society" does not include women by definition. Caring for family is an very essential service.

Menstruation is not a HYGIENE issue per se, it is a HEALTH, RIGHTS and WELLBEING issue. Its not about just keeping clean when one is having a period, its much much much more. Dignity to women and girls. Just joining the grand debate on this issue yesterday
My life is with these little girls in my villages all the time. I fight their battles every day so that:

3. They are self confident & yet respectful

It's not the women who are rural. Nor are the girls rural. It's the environment they live which is rural.
Living and working in rural areas does not mean lack of knowledge or wisdom. It means lack of access to quality basic services
There are no "rural" women. We have women living and working in rural communities. What is RURAL is the living environment and NOT the women.
I am a woman living and working in rural communities.
Naming is norming.
