The point is important, but if it helps any trans people feel a bit safer, I do know many trans people with grey hair. I'm starting to get a little grey at the temples myself and am looking very forward to having more.

I've said this for ages. If a man isn't paying attention to your clitoris, it's not that he can't find it. It's that he doesn't care. The stereotype just provides an excuse.
@NightlingBug
What about a reverse Stardew Valley where you move into a thriving farm in a thriving town with a thriving community center and encourage everyone to let it go to seed and return it to nature, eventually allowing the encroachment of wildlife who consume the remaining villagers?
@NightlingBug
The game ends with a series of idle turns requiring no player interaction wherein the structures and remnants are gradually overgrown and buried.
Not only was Lambert a trans woman, she was diagnosed and medicated for "hyperactivity and nervousness", and was introverted / antisocial and better suited to small crews with lots of cryosleep.
I was out at a board game cafe with a friend tonight, and a random woman approached our table and was like, "Excuse me," and I was like, "Hi! Yes?" and she said, "I just wanted to tell you that I LOVE your dress and that colour is gorgeous on you!!!" and I was like... 😳🤯☺️

I'm always amazed when I get "Sir"ed by: a) my endocrinologist and/or; b) my pharmacist. It happens regularly and THEY ARE SPECIFICALLY AND PROFESSIONALLY ON MY TRANSITION TEAM. Like, don't sir me WHILE dispensing my estrogel, fuck.

I think I've tweeted a few times about my former partner who died of cancer because doctors kept telling her she just needed to lose weight instead of looking into any of her symptoms.

That's awesome. I, fairly recently, saw an ENT who remarked that my English was surprisingly good. (I'm half Pakistani and have a Pakistani name.) I'm fifty years old and was born and have lived in Canada my entire life. I only speak English.
"UK museum reclassifies Roman emperor as transgender: According to research, Elagabalus asked to be called 'lady' and preferred other feminine addresses"
Let me expand on this to say: Yes, but also, I want my tax dollars to feed ANYONE who doesn't have food. They don't have to be kids. 65 year old homeless man with lifelong substance abuse problems? YES. If he needs food, I'm 100% cool with my taxes feeding him.
“oh so you want -your- tax dollars to pay for free school lunches?” literally yes. please take whatever is necessary to keep kids from going hungry. how the fuck is this controversial.
Incidentally, I love this passage from "Swordheart" by T. Kingfisher (

I've always wondered what those outcomes would look like if you could somehow factor for poor access to health care due to medical fatphobia, added stress due to societal fatphobia, and the health effects of dieting.

One of my exes strongly believed that having fights where you threw dishes at each other, smashing them, was completely normal and healthy, and said after we broke up that she always felt that she had to walk on eggshells around me because I just shut down if she screamed at me.

It blows my mind, similarly, how Avatar was (is?) the highest grossing film of all time but most people can't remember the plot and virtually nobody can remember the protagonist's name.
This is true of so many things, too. Like, it costs us more money to manage the "homelessness problem" than to just give people homes. It costs us more money to police welfare than to just pay it all without the rigamarole. Etc., etc.
My Mom just called because she saw on the news that 'the transgenders' were more prone to depression and wanted to make sure I wasn't going to quit my meds. In the same call, she misgendered me repeatedly then refused to correct herself, saying that was too much on laundry night.

Even from a TER perspective, how does that make any sense given that Jeopardy isn't gender segregated? If they believe trans women are men, but men are allowed to complete against women anyway, then isn't whatever advantage they misogynistically imagine already in play?
@Imani_Barbarin
Now, the REAL question is: Do you think a woman with a full life of activism, hobbies, and creative pursuits wants to be with a man that works out day and night? (The answer, I expect, is: Sometimes, but not as often as people assume.)

I mean, medical debt isn't a thing in a lot (most?) of the world, so that would prevent it from being the largest form of charity in the world right there. :) But is it something people can just do? I mean, I'd do that when I had spare money if so.

I always remember the Simpsons episode where Homer gets to work from home, then automates his job with a toy, and the show depicts him as both immobile and the entire width of his couch then describes that as being "300 pounds". I was like, I'm sixty-five pounds heaver than that.
So, I got complimented by a random stranger on my outfit today. It happens a LOT. I've often wondered how much is me being very clockable and allies being supportive.
I mean, this outfit (black pleated skirt, burgundy knee highs, black Mary Janes) is fine, but not remarkable?

Oh God, yes. Burn them all. (Don't actually burn them, that would probably be hugely toxic, but like, make art out of them or something. Art not intended to be sat in.)
Well, Capitalism wins again. Venture capitalists bought up Instant Pot, Corningware, Corelle, and Pyrex and saddled the resulting entity with unrecoverable debt. Now they're filing for bankruptcy. (It's Toys R' Us all over again.) RIP Instant Pot.

I've always had a lot of respect for them not because I had an inside line on them but because of an interview where they basically said that yes, they 100% sold out, because the proceeds from that one hit would let them continue to make the music they really wanted to for years.
This was really cool to watch! Especially, to me, for seeing how much work happened between, "This looks done to me, how is there half the video left?" and the final, "Okay, those elements really did make a huge difference," result.

I will say that I've even seen that shift in myself. I used to be more confused by people's identities, and what changed wasn't that I got more adept at interpreting things that seemed superficially conflicting (I may have), but that I decided to just take people at their word.
I should note that when I saw this meme screenshotted on Facebook and came here to search for the source, I made a SEVERE error in thinking that "

I began transitioning at 49, almost a year ago. I've been on HRT for about nine months. I'm completely out across the board including work and family and live as me 24/7. It's the best decision I ever made. I turn 50 in less than two weeks.

There's no way to fit all the details into a single tweet, but I worked for a small newspaper once which wound up folding after we got the president, who was also a member of the clergy, busted by the RCMP for embezzling money from the Canadian Cancer Society.

A friend of mine who has since taken a different academic position used to be a disaster researcher and got called in to consult on SO MANY films, all of which threw all of her guidance completely out the window in favour of whatever would look coolest.
These kinds of questions make me genuinely frightened of the asker, because it implies that the only reason you're good to other people is for an eventual reward.
I'm good to other people because it's right and because I take joy in sharing joy and comfort in sharing comfort.
I had a date today! If you've ever wondered if I look like a *total* dork when I'm on a date, the answer is resoundingly yes. But apparently she didn't mind, because when I said, "We should do this again," she agreed wholeheartedly. :)

When I was young, 99% of the appeal of going outside was unsupervised time with my friends. It was a space to just be ourselves and discover ourselves without constant oversight. These days, the only place kids get that is on their phones and online, so that's where they go.

There's a solid argument to be made for the "MILE 420" sign, but ultimately I think it's the studio lighting that would concern me the most.
I have to say, this is like the fifth or sixth plus-sized character on Gundam:Witch from Mercury and none of them of them are there as jokes or to be a Very Special Role. It's just an incidental characteristic. It is ridiculously refreshing.

Also, isn't it just a weird photo of a more normal-looking, accessible bed? Like, I think all the objects on the left side are just accessories that have been pushed up against the bed to make a square. (For example, the two side chars that are pushed directly into teach other.)

Also "clothes that I think match my style and vibe and colour and are fantastic" vs. "clothes that are available for purchase or barter".

The feminine urge to go buy a board game that you don't need and can't really afford just because you think you look hot today and want to go dazzle some cute nerds.

I got chatted up. Like, seriously chatted up. By the super hot bear on the bus, who, by all indications has been paying attention to me and nerving himself up to talk to me for AGES. WHAT?!
The details of the "Elon Musk is launching an advertising satellite into space," plan are even stupider than you can possibly imagine. First, the fact that it's in space is 100% incidental and has no bearing on its operation. Second, it won't show ads. How it works (cont'd):
By the by, if you post about how your totally average size tummy is horrible and renders you monstrously disgusting, my brain mentally tags you as someone who must see me as the worst thing a person can be, and I remember it every time we interact from then on.

I always wonder: When people say that sort of thing, or when parents say nobody will ever love you if you're fat, etc., don't they see all the evidence of fat people who are married or in couples everywhere you go? It's not like it's rare.

Amazing side trivia: One reason a cat will also curl up next to you or lie on you and purr of you're sick it's because those vibrations promote bone healing. (For real, it's something about the frequency.)
