Thank you for 48 years of letting us be a part of your experiences in
#Aggieland
. We've loved every single moment of it and look forward to the next 48. 🍻
Jerry Jeff Walker, a pioneer of Texas music and a songwriter that inspired many has passed away at the age of 78. If you've spent any time at all at the Dixie Chicken, odds are you've heard one of his songs through our speakers. This one hits hard.
We're heartbroken to hear the news about
#CharlieRobison
's passing. He was such a strong voice of the growth of Texas Music as we know it today. We extend our thoughts and prayers to his family, friends, and fellow fans who will miss his one of a kind style.

In the early morning hours of November 18th, 1999, the Texas Aggie Bonfire collapsed, killing 12 students and injuring 27 others.
Tonight and tomorrow, we honor those who lost their lives on 11.18.99 (🧵)
It is with a heavy heart that we announce for the first time in 45 years, the Dixie Chicken is closed until further notice. Please call the Chicken Oil Company for any to-go orders, 979-846-3306
Today, we celebrate 44 years of serving Aggieland. Don Ganter and Donnie Anz opened the doors to a little beer joint that has grown into an attraction. We are honored from all of the love we've gotten from the people that've walked through our doors since June 15th, 1974.
‼ATTENTION‼
It's taken 2 months, but repairs are done and our snake cage area is back open!! There are some really great pieces of
#DixieChicken
history on the walls. Come see it all for yourself now!
We hate to hear about the
@codyjohnson
rodeo show being canceled. If Cody and the boys were looking to get out and have a little fun, I'm sure we could make some room on the back porch for a little acoustic set. What do ya say CoJo?
We are OPEN and ready for YOU!
We’ve said it many times in the last few days, but THANK YOU to the community and friends for helping us get to this point. We are beyond humbled and can’t wait to see everyone!

Howdy
@GeorgeStrait
! We're excited that you're coming to play Kyle Field to celebrate our 50th birthday! If you wanna swing over after soundcheck, we've got a reserved table ready for you and your band.

We want to take a moment to thank the
@cstxfire
and
@BryanFD
for their quick response to the roof collapse just 24 hours ago. They made sure the building was safe and secure so we could quickly start our cleanup.

Did the announcers just say something about free ice at the Chicken? 🤣
Okay sure, free ice is yours folks!
Whatever you do, DO NOT GET THAT FREE ICE FROM THE MENS ROOM.

Some things are bigger than rivalry, this is one of them. Our thoughts and prayers go out the Ehlinger family, the Longhorn football program and our friends in Austin. Losing a son and a brother is never easy. Our condolences

June 15, 1974, the day we first opened our doors! Over the last 47 years, we're proud to be a place that Aggies and friends have gathered to drink a beer, play 42 or pool, and make memories. We're very humbled by the continued love and support, especially over this last year.
We open at 11A in the morning!! This could not have been done without you! We want to thank those who worked so hard to make it happen
@StudentBonfire
, CSFD,
@BryanFD
, CSPD, JaCody Construction, Bayer Electric, ALBO, Tom Lyne Plumbing & our beloved employees! We are very humbled.
This morning, we took some time to reflect on what Charlie Robison meant to us as the Dixie Chicken. From his rowdy sing-a-long songs to the heartbreaking tunes, he left quite a legacy.
Happy birthday to one of our favorite artists and Aggies,
@robertearlkeen
! He's a one of a kind singer-songwriter extraordinaire and were so honored to have witnessed his growth up close and personal for so long!

We will always remember. You are always with us. Here.
Okay, we are ALL ABOUT THIS!!
Question, tall socks that resemble senior boots are they only gonna be worn by seniors, yay/nay?
Question 2, when will these be on the field because we want to be sure to be there!
Just saw the news of

's passing. Very sad to hear. Thoughts and prayers to his fans, friends, and family. Many knew him from 90210, but we'll always remember his portrayal of

45 years of history carved into tables and walls.
45 years of memories with friends.
45 years of carefree nights and game days.
Cheers to 45 years of the Dixie Chicken and to the next 45!

You've been an excellent representative of Texas A&M since you stepped foot on campus. It's been such a pleasure to watch your on-field accomplishments and we're sure not only will they continue, but we look forward to what you do off the field too.
#GigEm
This year, we celebrate 50 years of tradition at the Dixie Chicken! We've got some big things planned & can't wait to let y'all on in all of it very soon.
What we can tell you now is to be on the lookout for our Time Capsule Collection of the best Dixie chicken throwback shirts!
A truly humbling day for Aggies. It's interesting to watch the tables around the Chicken before and after
#AggieMuster
. Some are somber, then turn to laughter of remembrance. Others buy a pitcher and leave a cup for fallen friends. Stories are told, lives are remembered.
Here.
Happy birthday to the one and only
@trevor_knight9
! He's been an amazing representative of Aggieland, even with only being in the A&M uniform for one year, he'll always be an Aggie!
#GigEm
#BottleCapAlley
is a tradition going back to when the
#DixieChicken
, basically, sold only bottles. We’d take all of the caps at the end of the night and toss them into the alley. We encourage you to come and toss your own bottle caps to be part of this decades long tradition!
Things you should never say at the
#DixieChicken
:
"Who's
@LyleLovett
?"
"There's too many dead animals on your wall."
"Do you have any Perrier water?"
"You shouldn't have a live rattlesnake in your bar."
"Can you play Nickelback?"
For all of those Aggies who have left us this past year...
Softly call the muster,
Let comrade answer, “Here!”
Their spirits hover ‘round us:
As if to bring us cheer!
Aggie Muster is this evening, 7 p.m. in Reed Arena.
Man, they are playing the late Charlie Robison’s “My Hometown” here at Kyle Field at halftime. Makes my heart both happy and sad — and beats the heck out of that “If You’re Gonna Play in Texas” mess.
As we get ready to open back up on Friday, there are a few things we want to make sure you remember.
🔴We’re only allowed to open up to 25% capacity and will be first come, first served basis.
🔴No tables of more than 6 people.
Please be patient as we figure this out together.

Over the last month, we went through organizing all of the old Dixie Chicken records for display in our office. These records played a pivotal role in creating the legacy of the Dixie Chicken. They became the soundtrack to so much that happened within our walls from Day 1..
We love being part of a community that steps up and supports friends in need!
We'll be donating 10% of our sales today to the cause. Come join us and show your support for the kids who worked so hard to get their animals ready for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Due to the Winter Wonderland taking over Texas, we will be closing at 5P today to allow our employees to get home safely. Thanks and be careful out there!
Our deepest condolences to out to the Bush family. George and Barbara made many trips to Aggieland over the years and have touched many lives throughout the country and here locally.
